Dear Trojan I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the Trojan Power Gym 2.0, purchased from Makro on 4 September 2025 for R6,299.10. We were extremely excited about this purchase, especially as all other equipment in our home gym is Trojan-branded, and we have always trusted the quality of the brand. We arranged for the Trojan technician supp**** by Makro to install the machine. From the very first workout attempt, it became clear that the machine is completely unusable. Even with no weights loaded, the movement is excessively tight and resistant to the point that none of the exercises can be performed. For context, my husband has been training six times a week for over 20 years and can bench press 200kg. Even for him, the machine is impossible to use, which clearly indicates a serious mechanical or design issue. A call was logged with Trojan on 11 November 2025. The same technician who installed the unit was sent out to inspect it. He confirmed that the setup was correct and, while at our home, conducted a video call with a senior representative from the Johannesburg head office to demonstrate the issue in real time. Despite clearly seeing that the machine cannot be used, we were told that “this is how it comes” and that nothing can be done. This response is completely unacceptable for a product at this price point. To further investigate, we visited Makro in-store and tested another Trojan Power Gym, as well as the larger Trojan model (which unfortunately cannot fit into our garage). These machines were significantly smoother and far easier to use, confirming that the issue appears to be specific to the Power Gym 2.0 model or our unit. At this point, the machine has been unused for months, despite being brand new, and we are extremely disappointed with both the product performance and the response received. We are therefore requesting one of the following, urgently: 1. A suitable replacement with a machine that functions correctly and smoothly, or 2. A full refund of the purchase price. We will not accept a response of “it is what it is.” This matter needs to be resolved promptly, as we have been without usable equipment for an unreasonably long period. Please treat this as an urgent complaint and advise on the next steps as soon as possible. Kind regards,

I just want to give a huge thumbs up to Trojan. I hope I have the correct company. I bought a trojan strenght bench. It seemed like the weights was laying on the cushions of the bench while in storage. It was flat. I cantacted trojan and the dropped off new items. Best service I have ever gotten from any company in a very very long time in south africa.

Worst customer service. Purchased a Treadmill TR1610 from Makro on 26 June. The belt was not aligned, and when I logged a call with Trojan, was told that they are waiting for head office approval to send a technician out. It is no2 5 days that I cannot use the product and when I followed up, am being told the same thing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND

I bought a Trojan treadmill in 2017/18, for home use. It more than likely has less than 50 hrs on. We moved house in June last year, up until then it worked perfectly. Last month we decided to start using it again, only to find out that the elevation function was not working. So I email Trojan and request that they send out a technician to sort out the problem. A technician arrived ( R650 deposit) to access the problem, his view was that it was the motor for the elevation function. He said he would get a new motor which he did, but the problem was not rectified. So he then said it was the mother board, and he would try and get one. Two weeks later I am told that Trojan only keeps spares for models up to 5 years. I find this very unsatisfactory as the treadmill cost R10,000, and no one mentioned anything about spares only being available up to 5 years. I questioned whether there was no other mother board that could be used, and was told no. So now I sit with a nonfunctional treadmill which Trojan have just washed their hands and said sorry can't help you?????? Avoid Trojan South Africa if you can, their back up service is pathetic.

Horrible service from a non caring Trojan agent Tando with zero customer care attitude. Purchased a Elliptical Machine from Game George. Few months later one of the pedals is damage so went to game George to ask about a replacement pedal. On this day Tando "Your Trojan Rep from Jhb" was actually in the 'Game Store' so I asked him if he can assist me or just organize and bring me a pedal from JHB then I can pay in store for the part. All I got from him was he only takes care of the machines in the store and it's not his job to take care of customer issues(even though he is the rep for Trojan), so he turned around and walked away. How much effort would this have been to help organize 1 pedal for me? Nope, he just doesn't care. 100% BBE mindset. As long as he gets his salary and do the bare minimum each month that's what he'll do. This was the last time I'll ever buy or support you Trojan SA. Never again.

I recently bought a Trojan workout bench. Whilst it is not terribly made (not the best quality neither), it's the design of this bench that tells me the people at Trojan don't really know what they're doing. The part where you sit is at a decline. Yes folks, the bright sparks thought it clever to make this part decline, so your legs are never quite stable. Laying back it's quite hair raising if you're lifting heavier & if you work out in the decline position, your back is in an akward position just asking for an injury. I would think a company making sports equipment for this long, would know what they're doing. But it doesn't seem to be the case.

I recently bought a Trojan workout bench. The part where you sit is at a decline. Yes folks, the bright sparks thought it clever to make this part decline, so your legs are never quite stable. Laying back it's quite hair raising if you're lifting heavier & if you work out in the decline position, your back is in an akward position just asking for an injury. I have a Trojan TR700 treadmill. It came preset with Netflix, and Spotify etc. At the beginning of July, I got a message saying that Netflix will no longer be compatible with my device, the device needed to be updated. How can this be. The treadmill is 2 years old. Do they use outdated old component parts in in equipment? They have been running circles around helping me and answering my questions. Putting me on hold for ever. They have to replace that device or come and update this problem. Looks like I am not the only one facing this dilemma. I would really appreciate it if they can find a solution to this problem instead of ducking my calls and ignoring the problem.

I have a Trojan TR700 treadmill. It came preset with Netflix, and Spotify etc. At the beginning of July, I got a message saying that Netflix will no longer be compatible with my device, the device needed to be updated. How can this be. The treadmill is 2 years old. Do they use outdated old component parts in in equipment? They have been running circles around helping me and answering my questions. Putting me on hold for ever. They have to replace that device or come and update this problem. Looks like I am not the only one facing this dilemma. I would really appreciate it if they can find a solution to this problem instead of ducking my calls and ignoring the problem.

Do NOT by any TROJAN gym equipment from Game or Makro before you tested all the app on the equipment. Testing the unit in store to see if you can login to Spotify, Netflix and that the Google Chrome is the latest version. I bought the TROJAN TR700 Treadmill from Game in George on 09/07/24. Game sales person told all apps work as on adverti*****t. I took delivery my self setting it up. Login to Spotify that works fine. Login to Netflix it says I needed to update the app on the unit. There's no settings or a function to do that. I contacted TROJAN directly and telling them the issue I have with the unit. They was quick to respond to my email but trying to sort out the problem was a bit of a problem. Remember I only have 7 days to return the item back to Game store. So I was cool and calm with them. As my 7 days is running out they keep on asking me for an extended day so I say it's OK. Next day same story asking for another extended day. In the meantime I was thinking about my 7 day period for return if not sorted out. So on day 7 I whent back too Game to arrangement for pickup and refund. This morning they told me they can't pick it up today Game reschedule for the next day 18/07/24. Guys think twice before buy an expensive equipment from Game and stay away from any TROJAN equipment that have an android software build in. Test it first before making your payment
