UCT Online High School
Based on recent customer reviews, UCT Online High School receives strong praise from families who value its flexible learning model, supportive coaches, and the safety of studying from home. Parents and learners consistently mention academic growth, engaging content, and a well-structured platform. However, a recurring theme of frustration centres on administrative and billing issues, with customers describing unauthorised debits, delayed refunds, slow email responses, unreachable phone lines, and conflicting programme information. Concerns about increasing reliance on AI support over human teachers and delays in receiving matric certificates also surface repeatedly.

I am posting this as a last resort because my numerous emails and attempts to resolve a serious financial matter have been completely ignored. In late January, I registered my son at your institution. Due to a total lack of support, I cancelled his enrollment after only three weeks. We subsequently reached a formal agreement regarding the notice fees, where I agreed to a specific monthly amount to be paid via debit order. However, your institution has breached this agreement in a most unprofessional and damaging way. You have debited an amount significantly higher than what was agreed upon, effectively triple the amount. To make matters worse, despite taking these unauthorized funds, you have repeatedly attempted to debit the original amount agreed upon. This has left my account in a minus and has caused essential debit orders for other creditors to fail, incurring bank penalties and damaging my credit standing. I have tried every possible avenue to contact you, but since you do not provide a contact number and ignore urgent emails, I have now had to go public. I demand that a senior manager calls me URGENTLY today to resolve this. I require an immediate refund of the unauthorized funds, the incurred charges and the banking details necessary to switch to manual payments.

Hello, I would like to request assistance with re-registering my daughter for Term 2. I have been trying throughout the day, but I keep being redirected to a bot. I did receive responses from the finance and admin teams; however, they do not clearly indicate the next steps. I would really appreciate guidance, as I would like my daughter to resume her studies this week. I would also like to add that I previously communicated that she was unable to start her online studies in January. However, I have since been informed that my account is still handed over. This is confusing, as I was earlier told that the account in question did not belong to me, but to someone else with the same name.

My daughter has been with UCTOHS since 2024 and she started in grade 8, at her previous mainsteam school, as a top achieving learner she was ostracized and bul**** for being the teachers "pet". We tried UCTOHS and we've never looked back. The classes are well controlled, because they are online, learning time is maximized and the curriculum is taught in depth compared to mainstream learning where teachers lose learning time due to distractions from unruly learners (not always but MOST of the time). In 2025 we experienced financial difficulty due to my ill-health the year before and UCTOHS recognized our daughter's impressive academic performance which resulted to them accepting my proposal to give our daughter 100% scholarship. The fact that during one's hardship, a school can prioritize a learner’s future above profits really proved to me that UCTOHS are dedicated to give quality education to well deserving learners. During our application to Yale Young African Scholar for our daughter, Darryn Lee supported us and helped to connect us to the relevant personnel to get the application process running successfully. Now our daughter is a Yale Young African Scholar for 2026 group. UCTOHS has been so far the perfect partner in education for us and our daughter.

I had no problems. Whenever there was anything I didn't understand or like, there was always someone to explain and expand. I was not the best in technology and help was always at hand. I enjoyed the fact that vernacular was not a problem or a by-the-way-subject. In my experience it is impossible in South Africa to find a good school that takes vernacular serious. The coaches were always patient and engaging every time we needed them.thanks.

What an experience and peace of mind I had with UCT, what a great results my daughter got at the end of her matric, she is now at WITS studying Audiology, thank you UCT for professional and quality education you provided my daughter right in my house. I am so grateful about the decision I took to register my daughter with UCT about 4 years ago, it really paid off very well. Thank you.

My daughter enjoyed her time at UCT Online High School as it gave her the independence to study, she felt she needed and the support coaches were very helpful in assisting her in whatever she required. She excelled and would recommend the school if your child is capable to work independently and with a strong sense of accomplishment.

This school has taught my child the importance of self learning, self discipline and time management. Their ability to communicate and engage regularly has been a win for my daughter & I. Perhaps going forward, they can improve their IT support and if budgets allow, hire additional support coaches. Overall the past 4 years have been challenging, however in a good way. Like anything in life, continuos improvement should be considered.
