Professional and trust worthy mechanics
Had a really great experience with VA Auto after struggling with both VW and Bosch being unable to accurately diagnose the issue with my Golf 7 2.0TDI. VA Auto where able to diagnose the issue within a day and they kept me informed the whole way as to what needed to be done and how long they expected it would take. Could have saved thousands had I gone straight to them when my car initially broke down instead of wasting time with VW and Bosch. Going forward the only place touching my car is VA Auto.

VA Auto Repairs exploiting customers
I am from Ellisras and bought a Renault Koleos for my grandson. I did an inspection on the vehicle and noticed the left outer cv joint boot was cracked. I went to my local MIDAS shop, bought 2 replacement boots. I had to go to Midrand for a week to attend meetings so called a few auto repair shops close to where I will be during the week and "Steven" from VA Auto sounded as an honest guy and knowing what to do. I dropped my vehicle of at around 08:00 Tuesday morning. They VA Auto were requested to fit the 2 already bought cv boots as well as supply and fit the inner cv boots. I got a message around 13:00 saying they have only started to strip and won`t be able to finish on Tuesday. I agreed that they can finish on Wednesday, I got another message at 10:00 Wednesday saying they are done stripping but my cv joints, both side were damaged and need replacement and that the outer boots I supp**** dont fit. I then requested a quote and was completely faberblast by the cost, very close to R10K, I only got my vehicle on Thursday. As I mentioned I did phone other repairers in the area and the most expensive quote was R5.5K and that was stripping both shafts,fit and/or recon cv joints and supply 4 boots.I sat between a rock and hard place, my car was un driveable so I had to pay. The worst part is they threw away my invoices for the "incorrect" cv boots I supp****, meaning I am stuck with them and another R860 waisted.

VA Auto Repairs exploiting customers

Audi A4 2010 Oil Consumption Problem
I Have a 2010 Audi A4 (B8) 1.8 T Multitronic which had an oil consumption problem. I had an oil consumption test done and it was 3.3litres per 1000km. I complained to Audi South Africa about the problem they did their investigations and declined to fix the car for the following reason: 1. I bought the car used. 2. The car is now out of maintenance plan and 3. The engine is a 1.8litre not a 2Litre At the time i had done 124696km and it was April 2016 Audi Bruma quoted me R64 000 to have the engine rebuilt, I took my car to VA auto repairs and they quoted and repaired the car for me for much less than what Audi quoted. More than a year later I haven't had any oil consumption problem with my car.

VA Auto is incompetent

I arranged with my bank for a loan. When I drive out with the car it was going into gear 3 and 4 only, oil was leaking, alternator was messed up saying it was on their way and my speedometer reader was off , they said they'll have to quote me for fixing those which was the things they caused themselves. It's a ripoff. VW itself said they should have charged me R1 900. Useless workshop ever!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT GO NEAR THAT PLACE'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</p>
