The Auto & General VAP tyre and rims claims experience is really disappointing, and knowing what I do now, it's not worth it. They make use of semantics to weasel their way out of paying a claim. selecting facts that support their argument and ignoring those that would mean they have to pay more out. I've had VAP cover with them since 2018, and in that time, I haven't missed a single premium, but when it comes time to claim, they start using semantics like what defines a single incident, etc. I hit a pothole, and it damaged two of my tyres. I logged it as one claim, and as such, they are only paying the limit for a single incident, even though two tyres were damaged. Had I known, I would have logged two separate incidents for each of the tyres, as my annual limit is two tyre incidents. When assessing the claim, they use the remaining tread from both tyres to determine the amount to be paid, even though the limit used is for a single tyre.
Had a really great experience with VA Auto after struggling with both VW and Bosch being unable to accurately diagnose the issue with my Golf 7 2.0TDI. VA Auto where able to diagnose the issue within a day and they kept me informed the whole way as to what needed to be done and how long they expected it would take. Could have saved thousands had I gone straight to them when my car initially broke down instead of wasting time with VW and Bosch. Going forward the only place touching my car is VA Auto.
I bought a Ryobi brush cutter from Builders warehouse in Midrand. When used I discovered that it had an issue leaking fuel between the carburetor and the head. I took it in for repairs to Builders warehouse Midrand on 13/11/2022 as it was still under warranty. To my surprise, it was only sent in for repairs a week after taking it in and I only got the notification to collect it on 28/11/2022. Upon collection, there was a part missing from the machine that I know for a fact was on the machine when I had dropped it off (I took a photo of it before leaving it with returns) They apologised and advised that they would get the missing part returned the next day its now 2/12/2022 and I haven't been able to get ahold of the returns department after trying to call several times in the last 4 days. With all the rain we have had and not having a machine for the last 3 weeks my grass has grown long and untidy. I'll definitely think twice before purchasing anything major at Builders Midrand again given the poor service.
Takealot.com is awesome I got an item that was out of stock within 4 business days and the pickup point on the N1 in Midrand is really efficient and easy to use.
I'm completely disgusted by the terrible service, lack of accountability, and poor controls TymeBank has in place to prevent fraud on their accounts. I opened a case of fraud on my business account on the 2nd of August after I received an SMS which I thought was from Tymebank asking me to log on to approve a debit order. It turned out to be a scam, by the time I managed to get through to Tymebank they had already stolen close to R10,000 by using airtime purchases and send money requests that most other banks would ask for secondary verification for before permitting. After requesting a bank statement more than eight times in the last three weeks I still haven't received it from Tymebank as I would need it to open a case of fraud at the police station. Today I received a letter of Liability in which TymeBank not only states they will not refund me but go on to say that these transactions were performed by either myself or a person known to me... I wish I never banked with them and will be closing my accounts the first chance I get.
I've requested a Business account statement from TymeBank for August every day since the 2nd and am yet to receive one. To me the ability of Tymebank to service its client base is questionable at this point.
After speaking to Vusi from Myway call center I am reasured that I made the right choice in short term insurer. Not only was he helpfu and attentive but also assertive which is ever so rare in service these days. The product offering and premium agreed upon is fair and I would definitely endorse Myway for short term insurance.
