We bought a property in Emmerentia. Vered was the agents selling the property. The agent name was Carole Levin. The property belonged to a 00German couple who worked at the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg and had to return back to Germany. We visited the property twice before making an offer. The only disclosures was the fireplace being removed which we requested we wanted the pipe moved. We were assured everything was in working order and no issues to be reported. Close to the completion of registration, Vered requested we sign a document, apparently to protect us. Thankfully we didnt sign the document for early move in the house. This seemed only to protect the sellers. When we finally moved we found, 1). House keys missing- never received them to date 2). Garage door not opening and automation not working- not disclosed during sale and aggreement. 3). Plumbing issues- not disclosed 4.) The seller had taken light fixtures that was part of the sale. And by doing so destroyed all the lighting outside. This was done after the electrical inspection. 5). Carole on numerous occasions told us the implementation of road closure is complete and now we find it is far from complete and requires additional funding from us. 6). They told us the fireplace is working but all fixtures are missing- now we would need to get this fixed. 7). Told us the irrigation system is fully functional but that as well is not working. 8). Window broken since viewing 9). Moisture in ceilings We have written a letter with all the above and submitted to Carole as well as the seller. The seller requested pictures, which we sent. But since then we received no communication. Vered has stopped taking our calls or responding to our emails. This has got to be the most ********* behaviour from both Vered and the seller. I will not recommend Vered to anyone. For your peace of mind it would be better you avoid them, so you dont have to deal with additional costs that you didnt expect. My next steps is the ombudsman. Does anyone have further advise to deal with this?

I recently rented a property in Fourways belonging to Natalie Wolfaardt (an employee of VERED Estates) through Rob de Jong (VERED Estate Rental Agent). It was literally the worst experience of my life. Apart from having to endure extremely abusive, sarcastic and unprofessional conduct by both the agent (Rob de Jong) and the owner (Natalie Wolfaardt), the water supply to the property was disconnected within the first month due to non-payment of their accounts at City Council. According to them, and despite a lengthy lease agreement that sets out the landlord's obligations clearly, apparently the right to basic amenities like a stove, water and electricity supply is a "convenience" that the tenant can do without from time to time.

We sold our home in Lonehill, through VERED. Sally, Viktoria and Cheryl were absolute stars. They have a database of qualified buyers; always provided consistent, clear and concise communications; and managed the entire process in a most professional and satisfactory manner. If you're selling your property, or buying a property, I would definitely give these ladies a recommend.

Vered Estates is the worst estate agency to deal with. They are a bunch of racist scammers who set you up to take your rental deposit. They rent out slums and you do not get a defects list from them. I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with them on a rental in Fourways which I have since given notice on and vacated the property. Their modus operandi, as per previous reviews, includes asking you for an additional month's rental or deposit, promises that all the repairs necessary at viewing will be done (which never happens) and a barrage of intimidating emails filled with threats when you reach out to them about their promises. Also beware of their tactics in not pitching up to complete a defects list when you vacate the premises. They keep a set of keys when you enter into the lease, arrive at the property after you vacate it and vandalise it, and accuse you of the vandalism. DO NOT USE VERED ESTATE TO RENT OR SELL YOUR PROPERTY!!!

From January to June 2021 I rented a garden cottage through Vered Estates and my agent was Catherine Brookstone. This agent did not behave as an agent but rather as a mouthpiece for the landlord. Upon moving out of the cottage, the landlord set a date for her, the agent and myself to have a “moving out inspection” on a particular day. I started moving my things a few days before this inspection date (as most people do) and when it was almost empty, two days before the inspection day, I no longer slept there. The first night I didn’t sleep in the cottage the landlord went into the cottage (it’s downstairs from her house) and “inspected” it without me. It was NOT on the day we had agreed, I was not yet fully moved out. Next thing I knew, the agent was calling me and telling me that the landlord had found stains on the walls and the cottage was “filthy” and I would forfeit a portion of my deposit. When I returned to the cottage I found wall stains I had NEVER seen before, suddenly the bedroom wall was scratched and dirty. The landlord refused to ever have a real inspection with me and the agent present. I ended up leaving the cottage without the landlord having ever spoken to me in person about the “damages” in the cottage, when I knocked at her door she refused to open the door and said she had Covid. However when I returned there the next day to meet the agent and return the key, the landlord had come out and spoken to the agent, suddenly Covid free in a matter of hours! Throughout those 3 days of my moving out, the agent would say openly to me that she knew the landlord was wrong but she did nothing about it! She did not exercise her duty as an agent to arrange a proper inspection and mediate between myself as tenant and the landlord. Catherine Brookstone was borderline scared of the landlord and it was like I was dealing with the landlord alone, unable to hold her accountable even though the agent (Catherine) supposedly agreed with me that this landlord was wrong. I don’t want to make this a racial thing but the landlord was a white woman and Catherine is white as well and in the end it felt a little bit like the two had a better understanding and were determined to just get rid of me without my deposit. In the end I only received R3400 instead of my R4500 deposit and I received no statement with the breakdown of costs for the “repairs” that had been made to the cottage that cost me that portion of my deposit! I would recommend anyone think twice before getting into an agreement with this “agent.”

I had Wendy Daras and Gerald Harris as my Estate Agents to sell my house in Highlands North Extension. The professional manner of how they did there selling of my house was Top class excellence. They catered for my every need; warm; friendly and got the highest price in record time. I could not recommend anyone better than the two of them who work so well together. There was nothing too big or two small that they professionally helped me with. They accommodated my hours and exceptionally respectful. I highly recommend them.

Vered Estates is thee WORST!. Never ever experienced such terrible service from the past apartments I've rented. Candy Toweel who now works for Sotheby's is racist AF!!!.. The owner of the apartment I'd rented is racist just as her too. Imagine being black in your own country and have people treat you like you ain't ****??!!... They found every reason possible to keep my deposit, things that were already wrong in that apartment before i even moved in. Was made to replace things that were never there and worst of all they kept my deposit. Truly disappointed and can't believe such racist people still exist in South Africa in 2021!.
