In August 2019 we bought a used car from Village Autos., financed through the bank and with an extended warranty. The vehicle was serviced by Village Autos before we took possession of the vehicle. In October 2019 we were in the market for a second vehicle and thought to go again through Village Autos as we had received excellent service from them in August. This vehicle was financed through the bank as well, but without the extended warranty. We were told that the vehicle had been serviced, brakes checked, one or two other small issues sorted and was ready to go. About two weeks after driving the vehicle, we noticed that the bearings were noisy, the clutch was faulty and the engine light was coming on. We took the vehicle back as we had a 30 day guarantee when we purchased the vehicle. They 'repaired' the vehicle and 'replaced' the bearings. Not two weeks thereafter the vehicle was taken back to them as the repairs were not done as stated. The clutch was still faulty, brakes were noisy and engine light was coming on more than before. When we collected the vehicle, we were shown a 'checklist' of the work that was done and repaired. Needless to say, 6 weeks after taking ownership of the vehicle we had to replace the clutch at our own expense as this was never sorted out. Now, a sensor that they said was changed needs to be replaced, as well as the brakes and the wheel bearings. We feel that we have been duped with the second vehicle's purchase and will not recommend Village Autos, Kuils River, unless you have extended warranty insurance and can take the vehicle to AA for a thorough check through to confirm said repairs were done.
