I purchased a washing machine in-store on the 13th March 2026 at Walmart East Rand Mall. I was told they don't stock in-store and they will order from DC and call me when my order is read. I called the delivery guy on Saturday morning and told him I'm not home after receiving the SMS, we arranged for Monday, after receiving an SMS today I called him, Mandla and we agreed that 3pm my delivery will be made, I got a missed call at 13:54 which I called Mandla back as I did not recognise the number that called me, he said he'd check who called and get back to me, I called him again at 16:20 and he said he's going to check and get back to me, I got a call from a rude man asking me why wasn't I answering my call as he was at my gate at 2pm, I asked him who did he arrange that with and who is he, he screamed at me and hung up, I called Mandla to tell him his guys are rude but I want my delivery today he said he'd call the driver but promised to deliver tomorrow morning, I told him I want my parcel today or I'm calling the store to cancel this order. Bad on communication and updates. I don't understand why the store did not call me to check if I'm available before dispatching my order or make arrangements or update me on my order

What a pleasant surprise. The staff are amazing so friendly. The prices are mind boggling. The store is bright and cheerful. I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience. One small niggle that don't do pick up where I order on my app and pick up the order at the store. But the trip was worth it and I saved a few hundred rands. Please keep up your staffs friendly and helpful service.

I recently visited the newly launched Walmart at Clearwater Mall with high expectations, given the marketing promise that this would change the face of South African grocery shopping. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming and failed to live up to the hype of competing with the likes of Checkers or Pick n Pay. While the store is undoubtedly clean and the merchandise is neatly organized, the layout feels very clinical and lacks any "soul" or excitement. In retail today, especially in South Africa, shoppers are looking for an experience. When you walk into a modern Checkers, there is a distinct vibe and a customer-friendly energy. At Walmart, the staff appeared detached from the business, and the atmosphere felt flat. More concerning was the pricing. Walmart’s global strategy is built on being the price leader, yet I found many items—like a simple can of men's deodorant—to be roughly 30% more expensive than local competitors. If you are entering a saturated market and taking on established giants, you cannot afford to be more expensive while offering a less engaging shopping environment. Constructive Feedback for Management: Pricing Strategy: To truly take on the big names in SA, the "Everyday Low Price" needs to be visible across the board, not just on select items. Store Atmosphere: The clinical, "neat rows" approach feels dated. South African consumers respond well to the fresh, vibrant "market" feel that your competitors have mastered. Staff Engagement: There needs to be a focus on training and motivating staff to engage with the brand and the customers to create a more welcoming environment. As it stands, I don’t see Walmart achieving its goals in SA. Without a serious rethink of the strategy and local execution, you risk losing customers to retailers who simply understand the local "vibe" and pricing better.

I came to buy a laptop for my daughter who is going to university, and the help I received from Agnes and her collugues Ciphesihle was absolutely wonderful. They were patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Thank you for the wonderful service excellent service!”

So yesterday I went to Walmart Clearwater Mall and I love Clearwater guys but the service we Recieved at Walmart was wack I could not even say thank u I enjoyed the place … the only thing nice there was the products only and food etc… Our services were failed from the person guarding the door , no Hello, No Welcome to Walmart , No Smile just Sad looking workers one would swear they were no treated right or they not happy working there… We tried laughing with them but they were all a bunch of sad looking employees 💔💔💔no one was happy we even tried to make the place a happy one as customers there was no music playing imagine on a Sunday!!! Till workers seeemd like they were fighting for customers cos there was no machine to call on the next customer no order whatsoever… I think only 3 of the employees there weeee so helpful and trying to give us their best and we appreciated that… the others were of no help at all even the people in top positions cos they wore different shirts but they didn’t help us they were a drag to talk to none of them understood the products sold there… it’s like they employed people with no knowledge of what they are selling (look into the staff u hired) this sweet chocolate skinned beautiful lady was the best in services I didn’t get her name but she has braids such a lovely person thank God for her she made our shopping fun 🤩.

I am not a very happy customer and mother. My daughter 5years old got hurt at clearwater Walmart today, the 24th January 2026. Your store is only a couple of months open, and already your staff that are in charge of trolley up keep didn't do their job. As a customer, we don't check to see of the trollies are I working order. The one we took was MISSING a wheel. It was put out to use. As we did, didn't feel anything off, as we were shopping. Once we checked out at the till, I put my daughter in the trolley with our shopping, and it fell over that she missed her head on the till next to us, that it fell causing her to hurt her right arm elbow with all the shopping and trolley on her. She has a bruised elbow. The lady assisting us witnessed this her name was zanelle. I went to customer service and asked to speak to the manager. She called him on the phone, he didn't really rush to get to us. When he did I explained what happen. I told him I can't afford doctors or hospital, he said very sarcastically do you want me to call the ambulance. I told him I can't pay for it. He never mentioned it's for their account. He never offered money for medicine or offered medicine for pain. He just asked my daughter to wiggle her fingers. He asked for my contact details to check up on her. No compensation or care. It's a new store. I'm really am disappointed in the service and also the manner it was handled. He never even called the staff or person I charge of the trolley maintenance to come and explain why it was with working trollies etc. I would lime to hear from you as to what will be done.

What a load of nonsense. Just another African failure. I have been trying to register, for the past 2 hours, using different ways (email & phone), without success. I then decided to go onto thrir website, to send them an email, asking how else i can register, because there is something wrong with their app. I then saw, that their website, is as useless, as their app. Obviously i live in South Africa and selected that option, on the website. The page said 'South Africa', but the amounts for products were in American Dollars ($). I saw an option, to enter my current location, to have items delivered. I was looking for Mosselbay (where i live), or maybe George or Cape Town. No such luck. Everything is only set to American areas. Not South African, as it us supposed to, seeing that the page says, its the South African page. So now, i cant register. Guess ill just stick to my usual TEMU and TakeAlot purchases every month. Pity, that such a HUGE business, like most other ones here in South Aftica...will fail, due to *********** staff. Bye Bye Walmart...
