Listen, I get it; you come on here and see the reviews and they don’t look good. Michael is a music obsessed collector and not a salesman - as long as you know that going in, you’ll be fine. The selection of gear available is truly special and luck absolutely plays a massive role; this was how collecting music and gear used to be before the internet. I would advise you not to rely on his online adverts (Michael has mentioned he struggles with his account logins etc) but instead to make a morning of it and just go through to the shop. Be respectful and you’ll have a great time - I absolutely did and got incredible service and support considering I’m an absolute beginner with HiFi systems.

Unfortunately, he takes advantage of the desperate and offers very low prices and then adds a 150% margin on products that actually does not require a lot of restoration as he highlights during the negotiation. This is a proper 2nd hand car salesman mentality that only benefits Webuyhifi.

As others mentioned, many goods advertised are either sold already or reserved. I even called Michael personally and he confirmed that I can purchase the item. 8 hours later he said he made a mistake and it was reserved already. Even now the item still shows as for sale. I mentioned this business practice now to FB. It's *********.

I get Gumtree alerts when items are advertised so have driven straight to the store on 2 occasions, only to be told the item is sold! The 3rd time I called and arranged to visit the following day....and again the item was "already sold" when I arrived. these sales are pretty amazing as there it is vintage hifi with a tiny customer base and I have never seen anyone in the store other than Michael.... who has the personality of a doorstop and manners to match! I would avoid, don't waste your time...cant speak for the quality of products as there does not seem to be any products other than a couple items he is trying to fix behind his desk!

Buyers Beware! Michael Hughes and his WeBuyHiFi store in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town, who advertises online on Gumtree (Flamingo Vlei, West Coast) and is also on Facebook under WeBuyHifi.SA with the name Sharon Hughes are not to be trusted. They advertise items via the aforementioned online platforms but do not respond on Gumtree, and when going to the shop to enquire about the products, you are told, rudely I might add, that they are already sold. This has happened on more than one occasion. Michael is also unhelpful and very impolite. Visiting the Killarney store has to be one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had.

After checking if a particular item was available drove to Milnerton on Saturday only to find the particular unit scratched up, With a change of mind I noticed the same model walked in the door about to be purchased by WeBuyHifi and curiously checked condition that I don't need to trust there photos again. Condition perfect passed the test and was promptly notified by the customer that they only open till the close of the hour. I took the hint and the gate was shut tightly behind me. The unit was advertised Sunday and took my chance. Sent Sharon a message on Sunday again querying condition of item and as per usual promptly got a response. Took a drive on Monday at lunch only to be asked by the same salesperson what do you want through the bars. After notifying him again he abruptly to me he does not reserve items and yet items are on the shelf. The first time i told my wife got some really bad vibes from this place only to have that reinforced today. Not surprised again when finding old reviews of the same practice.

Webuyhifi sell and buy used/new hifi components...I have had problems with there availability of merchandise advertised for sale. Sale indicates avaliable ..yet its already Reserved or sold. The sales team which are not in sync with their adverts or one another.. Recently I equired on webpage (sharon) ...sales she asured me that the speakers advertised which I was enquiring about were still available (Sunday) I sent her a message that I would contact her on Monday to make arrangents. She showed thumbs-Up (ok) I sent here a message Monday offering a deposit and requesting a contact no and physical address of business. Waited...she eventually sent me a message Reserved and a contact number (which just rings and voice message box) I then received a Sold message...and no communication there onwards... I am very unhappy in which I have been treated by this businesses conduct..
