This place is absolutely disgusting. The staff are awful, and management is no better. They are all about rules, but those rules only seem to apply to certain people. We had a family reunion here, with family members coming from all over. My cousins, who are Muslim, were told they had to get out of the water because they were not allowed to swim in the clothing they were wearing. Children under 10 were also taken out of the water. My one-year-old niece had a tablet playing her cartoons. There was no music playing out loud, yet we were told to turn it off. She couldn’t even hear it properly. We were also told to remove our earphones — which is ridiculous. They were extremely strict about rules, yet their toilets were absolutely disgusting. We had a small table where we were eating together, and staff kept walking right through us to pick up papers. When we asked them to come around later, they ignored us and continued. We left some of our belongings unattended while we all sat at one table, and staff were hovering around our things. Another guest had to chase them away. Overall, what was supposed to be a nice family day turned into the worst experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We loved the quietness of the park, the pool, and the friendly staff. Thank you for the washing machines. The sandy stands doesn't bother until the cape wind hits you - then it is sand everywhere. Maintenance is a big problem all over the park. The ablution blocks especially. The men complained a lot about the crip's horrible smell, even after it is cleaned. The ladies' basins' plugs tied with dirty creepy ropes. Some shower outlets clogged, i reported it . One shower doesn't even have a shower head. Staff also use the ablution blocks, making the ablutions overcrowded at busy times such as Easter weekend. Due to sand and some campers' sloppiness, bathrooms should be cleaned at least twice a day.

This place is is seriously a **** hole!!! poor construction of their chalets, toilets and parking area, apart from the above mentioned there's so many restrictions no music at all kills me, people are staying here as residents under poor conditions you got people following and spying on you looking to find reasons not to refund your breakage fee. Was denied over night visitors I tried to book another chalet which clearly was available but Linda the lady at the front desk denied me of that aswell apart from that her attitude stinks truly the worst experience half my family has to go home while the other half remains I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.. My father had a drink he was told to leave with my 3 and 5 year old niece and nephew and if he get locked up for drinking and driving or any other problem along the road it's not their or as she said not her problem Linda should suck a **** maybe she'll be happier and treat people better!

<div>What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away, turned out to be a 30min of disbelieve and disappointment. I booked through Afristay for 2 days 22-24 January at R650 per day for four ppl. The booking was confirmed as a C chalet. Upon arrival at Zonnekus I paid the outstanding amount of R650, breakage fee of R450 and additional R200 for my sister as arranged with them the Thursday. In total I paid R1950 for 4 adults, 1 2mnth old baby and a 4yr old toddler. I got the key to chalet C1 not knowing what was waiting on us. We stood there in disbelief. 1. No bathroom facilities 2.no microwave 3.no TV. There was a two plate stove. We decided to leave, because where were we supposed to bath our kids. In these days of Covid, how can they expect their guests to shower and use outside toilets, it's disgusting. At reception I told them we are leaving and the reply I got was that they upgraded us from chalet B to chalet C, which I couldn't understand, because all my correspondence with Afristay said chalet C type. I didn't want to argue with them and left. I emailed Afristay support, ***** replied Zonnekus just wants to pay my breakage fee. I want all my money R1950. The pictures on Afristay website does not reflect on what I saw. All that green grass and trees, crystal clear pools are not true. I trusted Afristay, if you book a place you book it for the best price and pictures displayed. I suggest before Afristay post pictures on their website, to go check out these places first. I hope this matter can be resolved in a good manner. It was my birthday and I saved up that money to go away and relax, now I must hear I lost my money? Please refund my money. Regards Jacky </div>

I stayed at this wrongly titled resort it's closer to a trailer park to be honest. Didn't enjoy my stay facilities are poorly managed. staff are rude and very arrogant. I'm surprised they actually run this type of business with this kind of work ethic!!
