Worst service ever! They, for a second time this year, refused to assist a suicidal patient. And then had the audacity to give us attitude. I know Akeso has Doctors on call...yet Joy at Akeso will ask me "oh and who is the Doctor on call". How dare you!! How dare you refuse a suicidal patient. My mother.

Good day Peter, I have a 2 and a half year old niece who is on oxgen 24/7 we go to the Alberton clinic for her check ups. How could they expect us as 1 person to carry a special needs baby that cant walk and a oxygen bottle with no help and they are extremely rude aswell. We had to wait from 7 up to 11 too see a doctor. We feel that they should help people with oxygen first and that other people should wait. Have a good day Greeting Jenna Jonker

I was admitted to Akeso Clinic Alberton on the 30th of August 2024. My first week at the clinic went well. However, when the second week came along, it all fell to pieces. My psychiatrist and I clashed heads about a certain topic, and some , not so nice words, were said by my psychiatrist. I then proceeded to request that I change my psychiatrist, it took 4 days for the Clinic to finally find me another psychiatrist. It is my right to change doctors, if I don't feel comfortable. I was at Akeso Clinic Alberton for mental health care, and yet these 4 days extrabated my anxiety levels. Every time I thought I was on the right track, I ran straight into a wall. Surely, I am not the first patient that has requested for a doctor to be changed? Finally I met with my new psychiatrist, and all seemed to go well. In my final week, I saw my psychiatrist on Monday, and enquired, what the process would be to stay longer. He advised that we missed the exgracia application with the medical aid, as this normally takes 7 to 10 working days to be approved. He advised that if I wanted to stay whilst the request was reviewed, Akeso Clinic Alberton would ask me to put a deposit down, I could not afford this. I then asked if there is another way, and he advised that I should speak to the Discover Medical Aid case worker, based on site at Akeso Alberton. The case worker advised that I could stay longer, if I was booked in under the rehab benefits. My psychiatrist advised on the Monday, that he would see me on the Tuesday, Tuesday came did not see him. On Wednesday, he saw me around 19:00, the evening, I was due to be discharged on the Thursday. He advised that I will be discharged on Thursday. I advised him that I spoke to the case worker, and told him what she had said. He then advised that he will speak to her on Thursday during the course of the day. What was never disclosed to me, is that my psychiatrist was scheduled to go on leave on Friday the 20th of September, no mention of this from him, when I saw him the Wednesday evening. He called me to his office on Thursday afternoon the 19th of September, and advised that he can not take the risk of booking me in under the rehab benefits, when he is on leave. No evert was made to try and assist in any manner to stay longer. So I was discharged. This clinic, with it's doctors are supposed to help people, however, it seems that their reputation is more important than the patients well-being. My psychiatrist was well aware that he was going on leave the Friday, yet, he never disclosed it. He was well aware of the oprion of using the rehab benefits, yet, he advised me to speak to the medical aid case worker. I was discharged, even though I was not ready for the outside world. My psychiatrist even omitted to include my depression medication on my repeat script. Akeso Clinics fall under the Netcare umbrella. I will not recommend Akeso Clinic Alberton to anyone, due to patients being treated as a number. The occupational the****** that runs the DDU program is amazing, and I thank her for her professionalism.

A very poor experience: - Toilet did not flush and overflowed fecies all over the floor of my room - Dr took me off all my medicine and triggered a depressive episode in her inability to taper correctly - GP invalidated my gender identity and demanded I cease HRT on no valid medical grounds - Kitchen was terrible. No diabetic food available. Friends had to send me meals - The DDU programme was a joke. Facilitators did not show up and classes were like preschool - To go to the matron required walking up or down stairs to get to her office. This is not wheelchair accessible at all - Wasted my time and medical aid funds

Total change of rules. Can no longer gave visitors. The security did not even want my dad to come till RECEPTION. Threatening and treating a 69 year old pensioner to give a doctors letter. The man at reception said he will throw me and my father out who do we think we are. No induction was done yet. I am supposed to study now they threatened him if he comes back they will show him. I am not allowed to fetch my laptop either. Whats the use cos im more stressed. By the way the receptionist guy said he is the manager and no one will tell him.

Where to begin. The nurses are so rude. They shout at you. Doctors appointments whenever THEY feel like it. Had one session in my pjs. I've been to similar places and you can find good ones. Do not make the mistake I made by signing up there. Malpractice is unexceptable.
