Based on recent customer reviews, Amazon Prime is drawing significant frustration from South African subscribers, with a recurring theme being unauthorised debits continuing long after subscriptions have been cancelled. Customers consistently mention difficulty reaching support, unresponsive email channels, and locked accounts that cannot be recovered. Several reviewers describe being billed across multiple months despite holding cancellation confirmations, while others raise concerns about limited or removed content. A small number of reviewers highlight positive interactions with individual agents who provided helpful, attentive assistance during calls.

Disappointed, I am ****med by Prime Video for a subscription that I cancelled, but every month I am billed, when I call, I am told I do not have an existing account. They say I must ask the bank.

VERY UNSATISFIED AS PRIME CUSTOMER SERVICE IS POOR I have a Amazon / Prime video account and for more than 2 years i cannot add more family members. I have sent several emails for help in this matter. Now if i try to log in my account it says "account log" due to other activities. Again several emails and no help. But they do deduct the fees every month

I have cancelled my Prime Video account on the 8th of January 2026. I was charged the full amount in January 2026. It's fine, maybe because I cancelled during the Month. Come feb the amount was also included in the February invoice when i cann thy topl be. I was billed in arrears; February would be the last charge. As of today, 02/03/2026, the amount still appears in the March invoice. Every time I call, they can see the subscription is cancelled, but I'm still being charged. The lady today said they will credit me, but it won't appear in march invoice, it will appear in April's invoice.

I am very upset, as I cancelled Prime video last year durin October and my last payment of R229 was during November 2025. This was deducted from my cheque account, the only account that I authorized. Today, R179 was deducted from my credit card account. I did not authorize this and have no subscription with them. I am trying to reach them via the email address they provide, then I am sent back and forth to the Prime video app, but you cannot communicate with them. I consider this as ***** and want this debit order to be reversed immediately. ME Theron

I subscribed specifically to watch James Bond movies. After 1 week you removed all of them. This was so very rude and disappointing. So I had to unsubscribe. Why did you remove basically the only good stuff on your channel?
