Formal Complaint: Failure to Remove Debt Review Status Despite Full Payment – AP Associates & ABSA
Dear HelloPeter Team, I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against AP Associates and ABSA regarding the unacceptable and ********* handling of my debt review status. Despite having fully paid off my outstanding debts, both AP Associates and ABSA have failed to update the relevant credit bureaus and remove me from debt review. This ongoing status is deeply frustrating and raises serious legal and ethical concerns. I have upheld my end of the agreement by settling all debts in full, yet I remain flagged under debt review through no fault of my own. What is particularly disappointing is how quickly both institutions acted when I owed money—assigning third parties, following up relentlessly, and demanding payment. Now that they are responsible for clearing my name, there is a clear lack of urgency, transparency, and accountability. This double standard is simply unacceptable. I am requesting HelloPeter to escalate this matter publicly and hold AP Associates and ABSA accountable for the ongoing stress, harm to my credit record, and the inconvenience they have caused. I expect the following immediate actions: Written confirmation that all my debts have been settled in full. Notification to all relevant credit bureaus to remove my name from debt review. A clear timeline indicating when this will be completed. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter through legal and regulatory channels.

Just received a call from this number. This man was telling me hat I am on debt review and I said I am not, he said that is how it is appearing on his side. He then asked if he must tell me what he sees and I said yes, he then said he said I am on debt review I said I am not, he said I will receive an sms telling me he is checking, I asked him checking what and said if he dare does a credit check without my consent I will be furious, that man continued the tell me of a surname that is not mine. I ended the call, l then received an sms stating a credit check was being performed and I agreed to it, YOU BETTER MAKE SURE THAT CHECK IS NOT ON MY NAME!!!!!!!!! *********** staff asking nonsense and performing checks without consent.

DEBT FREE!!!!!!!!
So, 2 days later (18/11) I received the most AMAZING NEWS ever!!! After 2 years with AP & ASSOCIATES I am debt free!!!!!! after battles with Prev company these people have saved me and to think i can walk into dec debt free and start building my credit again is going to be amazing. It was an amazing experience with them, and I am so grateful for their help.

DEBT FREE!!!!!!!!

NEVER use this firm!
If you are thinking of using AP Pretoriusand Associates please think again. You will have to mail, phone and beg several times to get any information out of them and still you will only get the incorrect details. I am so glad I am done with these incompetent people!

If you are thinking of using AP Pretoriusand Associates please think again. You will have to mail, phone and beg several times to get any information out of them and still you will only get the incorrect details. I am so glad I am done with these incompetent people!

After the bad became a good and hoping for better
So here is my story. 2014 I ended up with no work. I was contacted by The Debt Management to assist which i took open hand. Counsellor was know as Rudowyn Abrahams. Well little did I know that he decided to leave the company and take his clients with. No mails saying this is happening nothing. December of 2019 if i am not wrong I decided to pay the outstanding balance of what was due still after a mail from him. I did the payment and that is where my nightmare began all over again. Jan of 2020 i sent a mail asking for clearance certificate and confirmation that i am done with debt review. I never received any mail back. After 2 months or so he responded stating that i need to pay a clearance fee, after i did research and found out that it is illegal to pay for a clearance certificate he never responded to any of my calls. July 2020 Ashwin from Ap and assoc phoned me to say that i have been picked up on their systems that i am still under debt review and if he can assist. Told him the entire story, apparently i was not the first that this has happened to. Since i have become part of them i know i can send ashwin a mail or whatsapp and i get an answer if not immediately by latest next day. they have been very helpful regarding getting my papers to them for court and just today i was informed that they are going to court for me. Between Him,moses and mrs felix they have really been a support and of course the lady who kept checking in on me if i can send the forms. Guys we all have ups and downs. i am hoping i can soon make it a 5 star rating. May you all come right as i cannot wait to be off these lists. 7 years is enough
