I am submitting this complaint regarding Audi Claremont and repeated incorrect repairs carried out on my vehicle over the past two years. Each year, my vehicle’s warranty has been extended, and the battery replacements were carried out during these periods. Despite this, the battery has now failed in under 9 months on two consecutive occasions, which is entirely inconsistent with normal vehicle ownership. I have never owned a vehicle that required a battery replacement within such a short timeframe. Audi Claremont replaced my vehicle’s battery. Less than 9 months later, the battery failed, placing me in a dangerous situation. This followed a similar battery failure the previous year, also shortly after a battery replacement by the same dealership, which nearly resulted in an accident. After the most recent failure, an independent Audi specialist confirmed that the incorrect battery type was installed: • Installed by Audi Claremont: EFB battery • Required for my vehicle: AGM battery (as per Audi specification for start-stop systems) This is now the second consecutive year that Audi Claremont has installed a battery not suitable for my vehicle. Installing an EFB battery where an AGM is specified compromises the vehicle’s energy management system, leads to premature battery failure, and creates a serious safety risk, with potential damage to the alternator, battery management system, and onboard electronics. I have consistently supported and advocated for the Audi brand. However, this experience has significantly eroded my trust, particularly given that these failures occurred while the vehicle was under extended warranty and serviced by an authorised Audi dealership. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate it to the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa (MIOSA).

If I could give negative stars, I would! My experience with Audi Claremont has been nothing short of a disaster—the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced as a long-time Audi owner. My wife’s Audi A1 TDI broke down on a Thursday evening while we were traveling from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town for a funeral. The glow plug light came on, and we pulled over. Thankfully, Outsurance had a flatbed tow truck with us in minutes (5 stars to them!). The Audi helpline advised us to tow the car to Audi Claremont, as it was the nearest dealership. The Horror Begins: 🔹 No Security on Site – The tow truck arrived at Audi Claremont late at night (11:45 PM), only to find no security guard to receive the vehicle. The driver had to track down the security guard himself before offloading the car. 🔹 ZERO Communication – The next morning, we tried calling the dealership—no answer. No updates. No response. No service. Days passed, and we had no idea where the car was—it was effectively MISSING! We tried every possible platform to reach them—still nothing. 🔹 Finally, Some Response... But Not to My Wife! – On Tuesday (five days later!), Graeme Dankers finally reached out to me after ignoring my wife’s messages and emails. They had supposedly been running tests for days—but when he finally got back to us, he told us they needed a new battery just to start the tests (that we assumed were already happening!). R14,500 for a battery and labor. 🔹 Now the Bill Skyrockets! – Suddenly, the costs escalated to R90,000.00—basically the value of the car! Why? Because they decided an injector needed replacing—but instead of quoting for one, they quoted for an entire set! 🔹Still No Car! – It has now been TWO WEEKS and we are still waiting. We have spent thousands trying to get back to Port Elizabeth, and Audi Claremont has done NOTHING to help. I have tried contacting Audi support, multiple divisions of Audi—zero results. Final Verdict? NEVER AGAIN. I have owned multiple Audis, but after this absolute nightmare, I am seriously considering never touching the brand again. Audi Claremont has shown ZERO customer care, ZERO communication, and a complete lack of professionalism. I am now waiting on another revised quote. I just want my wife’s car out of the hands of these auto-heathens! If you value your time, money, and sanity, STAY AWAY FROM AUDI CLAREMONT!

I recently purchased a second hand Audi A1 from Audi Claremont and was pleasantly surprised by the service I received from Faith Dutton. She really made an effort especially once I paid and she heard it was for my daughter’s birthday. She made a real effort to fix every little niggle and I arrived to a car with balloons and a big bow. Faith ensured it was a special experience not just another deal. Well done Audi - it made a very positive impression

Good day, Purchase experienced review: at Audi Centre Claremont – Faith Yoko Dutton My name is Zacharia I bought a stunning 2022 AUDI RS5 - Faith Yoko Dutton (Sales Lady Assistant). I’m based in Johannesburg, so everything was done telephonically which should have created some doubt/concerns difficulties but it didn’t. Faith Dutton was the sales lady who made the whole process absolutely a pleasure. Her attention to detail, product knowledge; communication, commitment to Daily updates/feedback; sending pictures, videos /video calling; she removed all doubt and concerns! Once the deal was approved, I couldn’t wait to meet her! I flew down to collect my stunning 2022 Audi RS5 on 03/08/2024, I was blown away, everything went 100% as planned and receiving my stunning vehicle as promised by Faith – It was Absolutely PERFECT! Faith is really next level!! Her product knowledge, detailed breakdown-explanation of my AUDI RS5 factory fitted items was IMPRESSIVE! She is professional, efficient, passionate and very helpful in every aspect; and serves with a high-level of integrity! I was shocked and disappointed by the level of customer service I received, or rather the lack thereof, from the Audi Claremont branch. I booked my almost new Audi, which is a premier luxury vehicle still under warranty, into this dealership for diagnostics due to a major technical fault. Unfortunately, the service I received was far from satisfactory. I have since learned that Audi Claremont is not an official Audi group dealer, a fact that was not made clear to me initially and I’d like to warn others against this. My overall experience of this branch was shocking as the staff's attitude was dismissive and they acted as if they were doing me a favour by helping me. Their lack of interest and unwillingness to help was made evident as they exhibited the attitude that because I did not buy my car from them, it was not their problem to deal with and they were going out of their way to accommodate me. The staff were rude and uncommunicative throughout the process. They kept my car for a whole week without any sort of reasoning being established or any timeline for the repairs despite my repeated enquiries. Furthermore, I was denied access to a courtesy vehicle during the entire period. Repeated attempts to contact the service department were often met with no response, leaving me to continuously chase for answers. When I did finally reach someone, I encountered hostility and unprofessional behaviour, and I was even hung up on during a conversation by Taryn-Lee who “handled” most of the service I received. This experience was extremely frustrating and inconvenient. I expect better treatment as a loyal Audi customer, especially when dealing with a major technical fault under warranty. I wouldn't recommend Audi Claremont to anyone after my experience.

Fantastic service and quality people. Nomie is a sales executive there who was by my side all the way to completion of sale - she even goes the extra mile to assist post-sale :D

Poor service from the AUDI CLAREMONT used car business. Bought a vehicle in October 23, but they have still not registered in our name. Many stories - the driver, enatis, etc and now finally they say the docs have been lost. FISHY, FISHY, FISHY.

Good Day, I recently took delivery of the car (2020 BMW 320I) from Audi Claremont.(CPT) I've had the most terrible experience from this dealership, since i received the approval from Audi finance. Firstly the finance was approved on 01 Dec 2023 and i only took delivery of the vehicle on the 12 Dec 2023 due to delays unknown to me, during this time i could not get hold of the sales guy Craig Herman, until i got hold of the finance lady at the dealer to put me through to him a week later which should have been red signs already for me. Secondly when i took delivery of the car on the 12 Dec 2023 i was advised that the car had scratches and i would be refunded an amount of R11 100 due to this so i can fix the scratches myself, of which till to date i have not received the refund. Also the maintenances of the car had not be transferred to my name due to reasons unknown to me again and i was told i would have to take it to BMW myself to transfer the maintenance to my name. Thirdly, as i was travelling back to P.E the next day 13 Dec 2023 i realized that the car does not have the wheel lock nut and i contacted Craig to inform him of this and he said he would get back to me and he never did as usual. On the 14 Dec 2023 i contacted him again and as usual could not get hold of him on his cellphone i then sent him a WhatsApp message regarding the wheel lock nut of which he responded by saying i should get a new set at Tyger Wheel and Tire and will refund me. I immediately went to Tyger Wheel and when i got there they told me to go to directly to BMW to get the correct lock nut for the tires. When i got to BMW Nelson Mandela Bay the gave me such a great service instantly and Werner the guy who assisted by checking the correct lock nut by fitting them on the wheels, he noticed that the 3 tires had bubbles and advised me that the maintenance transfer will not be possible because it quality check would fail because of the tires. This was now a day later of me taking delivery of the vehicle. We took pictures with Werner and advised me to send them to the sales guy Craig because there is no way that these were done in a day. I did that immediately and also sent an email to his manager Graham Schultz my biggest mistake. Lets say the less said about him the better the guy is just rude, arrogant and ******. He flat out told me that i caused the bubbles on the 3 tires in a day because i hit a pothole im not sure if he's a magician or what, where did he se mee hitting a pothole, for crying out loud the road from CPT to PE is as great as it can be. Graham told me to pay for the lock nut and i will be refunded which i did and have not received my refund of R503.42 which i bought on the 14 Dec 2023. Through all of this inconveniences caused by them not even once had i received a call from them or an apology for all of this instead im getting arrogance and disgusting treatment which led me to believe this is turning to be racial. On the 19 Dec 2023 took the car to BMW Nelson Mandela Bay for the quality check and there is lots of things wrong on the car and again the BMW service team reiterated that there is no way that i caused those bubbles because they have been there for a while. The car is still at BMW because Graham refuse to take responsibility of the tires and will not pay for the quality check and fix the tires. On the 22 Dec 2023 i escalated the matter to the dealer principal Shawn Peach, i explained everything to him and i could hear on the call that he was also not interested he would not wait to get off the call. He said, he would speak to Graham and get back to me of which he never did instead told the same Graham who is useless to contact me not sure for what when he clearly made it clear that he will not assist. I had to book a flight ticket to CPT for the 22 Dec 2023 because the car is stuck at BMW which i told them that i needed the car as im travelling for holidays. When i asked for the Roadworthy report since the 14 Dec 2023 i only receive it on the 22 Dec 23 after numerous request for it. The roadworthy was done on the 24 Nov 2023, 2/3 weeks before i collected the car. Clearly they have been driving the car and caused the bubbles. I even suggested we check footage when i collected the car to show now one showed me the 3 tires and i did not get any response regarding that. I have also reported this matter to Audi Finance. I just want out of this deal and be given my R50 000 deposit in full. I still do not have the contract till to date
