Good day I have a serious complaint regarding Avalon Cemetry, the new Cemetry (closer to Lenasia). On the 1st of January 2024 we went to visit my father's grave and discovered that his head stone had been ******. The it's evident that the there is no form of security as the perpetrators were able to leave the Cemetry with a large head stone unnoticed. This experience was naturally devastating for us to discover as family, and we also now have the added expense of having to purchase a new one. My mother went to the city parks managers office on the 11th of January 2024 and received little to no help whatsoever and was sent from pillar to post. She has not received any assistance regarding the matter till date. Not only is security and safety a concern but the Cemetry is also very neglected and has no running water. The area needs to be monitored better it is highly neglected. The grave number is Ham 2464. About 2 weeks ago, I went looking for a grave of my late uncle at Doornkop cemetery. I found a tombstone of Moloi's on my uncle's grave, my surname is Zwane. I reported the matter to those at the cemetery, they gave me a number to call Shibari, I called, he said we should meet on Tuesday, (last week), I went there, he didn't come, I called him, his phone was off, I left my details and nothing happened. Today I went to see if he has done something, nothing at all. I called his supervisor Mam Thembi at Avalon cemetery, she said, she spoke to Shibari and he's coming, I waited for 1hr30 only when Shibari to say, he doesn't have a transport and he's not coming. When I called Mam Thembi, the office phone its not answered. I'm angry, they are black and they know how we black people feel about graves being disturbed. Moloi and Zwane, and people who suppose to fix things are ignorant and have lame excuse. They have failed my family, the Zwane. They need to fix this cause my ancestors can't have a Moloi tombstone.

I'm very disappointed with the way Avalon Cemetery is operating, they make our lives difficult by requesting us to provide the day month and year of the deceased so that they can help you with the grave number. This is an awkward situation for many of us who rely on on the months and years to get the grave number from cemetery officials. The person or people who came with this idea he or she must come to their senses so we can easily find the grave numbers of our beloved ones.

Good Day I have been trying to get help from people operating guys at the Avalon cemetery and they are not assisting me I'm currently looking for the grave number of my grand mother who was laid to rest in 2013 November I even went there on Saturday and they told me they cant assist me at the gate as the was no one in the office and when I call they always tell me that I need to come there as they cannot assist me on the phone and I'm working I'm only looking for the grave number for Grand mother that's all please assist as this is my last hope.
