Bad Service
Went to back of the moon , received the worst service by a restaurant, the service of the staff was appalling to say the least , we waited extremely long to for our orders to arrive, at the end of the evening, they had caused a confusion with keeping record of the bill, we were charged for food we did not order, in the end , had to pay for the food , asked them to then make the food which took even longer to arrive, only to find the food had no flavor and was not cooked properly.

ABYSMAL SERVICE
We had booked at Back 'O The Moon for our Year End dinner before going to see a show at the Lyric. Since the restaurant only opens at 18h00 I arranged with Mercy and the Manager that our starters be served at 18h15 and our mains at 18h45 in order for us to have enough time to enjoy our meal and make it to the Lyric with time to spare for us to order some drinks and take our seats. After various discussions with Mercy throughout the day, I emailed our order at or about 14h56. As a result of traffic, we were approximately 15 minutes late, however I phoned and advised Present (since Mercy was no longer on duty) and upon arrival I confirmed with the waiter that we must nevertheless stick to the schedule since we have to be in time for the show. He confirmed that is perfect since the kitchen has our orders and is aware of the times. It took forever to receive our drinks, we only received our starters shortly before 19h00 and never actually received our mains. I started reminding the waiter about our mains from about 19h10 and he assured that they are busy with it in the kitchen. At about 19h25 we had still not received our mains and I asked Present what was going on. At 19h40 I called the Manager and said to cancel our order as it was now almost an hour after we requested the mains to be served. There would never be enough time for us to finish our meals and be in time for the show. The restaurant was not busy at all, we were only 8 people and I had stayed in contact with the restaurant throughout the day as well as given them ample notice. This abysmal service from an establishment who claims to be a “restaurant that welcomes those who appreciate the finer things in life” is unacceptable to say the least.

Bad experience for a frist time
<p>On 2 December 2016 my collegues and myself had our Xmas dinner at your venue. You didnt have sufficient place inside so seated us outside. However upon being seated outside alone, once could already tell the differnce in the setting of the tables . All your tables inside even had a xmas cracker per setting. We took the toruble of having orderered our meals in advance however upon receinving our food the waiter announced that he did not have the vegetarian meal that i ordered . He told me to take a tsitaki mushroom meal instead. He told us that you were so busy during the week and ran short of ordering on time.Firstly i am allergic to mushrooms and secondly not much of a choice for a vegetrarian. I eventually had to to eat chips, rice and some vegetables for R115.00 which i did not think it was worthwhile at all for the price too. I left dinner still craving a decent meal. I think you do not cater enough for vegeatraians and i didnt even get an apology for the inconvenience. I am appalled at the services standards and totally dissapointed. I will never use you again.</p>

FOOD POISOINING
Last night, Thursday 11/02/2015 my husband took me out for an early Valentines dinner and to celebrate our anniversary. I decided to order the lobster thermidor. Worst decision I have ever made. There was more mushrooms and cheese on the lobster , and it tasted horrific. I managed to eat the meat of the lobster and wasted everything else. while I was enjoying the music my tummy started cramping instantly, by the time I got home I was throwing up non stop. I had diarrhoea and severe stomach cramps that lasted the entire night. i know that Lobster was off, as well as my Husbands steak. it was so badly cooked even though he sent it back the first time, the second time it came out it made no difference. it seems on week nights Back of the Moon takes no pride in food standards, and this is very disappointing. I don't plan on ever putting myself through this again.
