Maurine at head office is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. I called in to ask if there was a way to redeem a voucher that was lost and she was incredibly hostile, dismissive and unhelpful and because of her I will NEVER support this brand again. They also don’t comply with the consumer protection act of vouchers being valid for 3 years, they only make them valid for 3 months which is against the law.

We visited Barclay & Clegg in Nicolway on 22 and 29 July 2023 and we loved the experience. Thandie and Lesego were welcoming, helpful, friendly and courteous. We will definitely be visiting that branch again. Wonderful ladies

Owner Maureen doesn't answer her phone, doesn't reply to emails. I need to return an ill fitting mastectomy bra - they don't have another model, don't know when they'll get more stock (supply chain issues) and want to give me a credit. The bra cost R1 500 and I must wait until/if they get more stock :( They don't care about Hellopeter but I'm just putting this message out there.

<p>Went to Barcelona chatsworth centre to order a very hot peri meal (supa peri) when a got home only to find out that its mikd when I got home, call in and ask to speak to the manager ,he insisted that what he gave me was supa hot, and was very rude and abrubt over the phone. I told him atleast tell the driver to drop of the right sauce or if I go to fetch he should re imburse me for fuel . he said driver went out for delivery and will only be in after 2 or 3 hours. He refused to assist me and said I can bring the chicken back ,no refund , no fuel re imburse all he will do is put sauce on the chicken. think he should be fired for the Terrible service.</p>

<p>On the 5th January 2017 at 12.21pm I took my daughter for a brand fitting of which I purchased 2 bras. I did not double check the branch fitting as I was under the assumption that I was dealing with professionals and they knew what they were doing. A few days later my daughter wore one of the bra's that did not fit properly I then took the bra back and ask for it to be swop for a proper fitting bra. The mangers Beryl was rude and incompetent not knowing what the process was all I was told that it will be sent to head office and they will let me know. I then called the store a week later to be told the manger said they will not do anything about it. After spending more than R2k this is not acceptable I am not asking for my money back all I want is a product that I can use instead of wasting my money on something that is of no use to me. Frustrated as there is no sense of urgency in resolving my issue.</p>

On the 22nd February I purchased a supposedly high quality costume for Barclay and Clegg. The costume was worn exactly three times (never been in water yet) and the elastic at the back tore as did the material. I returned to the store to bring this to their attention in the hope that they may offer to repair the product, or exchange it. Instead I was told that I was lying about what happened to the costume and that it had been washed and damaged by me. While it was frustrating that they would not assist me with repairing the costume it was more upsetting and insulting that I would be accused of being dishonest. When I wrote a polite and detailed email to Barclay and Clegg head office to address it with them I was again accused of lying by them indicating that it had been caught on something and that I had upset other customers. Bearing in mind that the shop assistant Thandi, had proceeded to help 3 other customers while I was trying to address my concerns with her. I can say with my head held high that I have never been treated in such a rude and unpleasant manner. Barclay and Clegg you are an unethical organization.

I bought one of the Anita Women's Dynamix Star Maximum Support Sport Bra at the end of August 2015. One of the metal hooks at the front of the bra then broke just less than two months later and it was replaced on 27 October. The exact same thing happened with this new one as well, I returned it to the store on 28 Jan 2016. <br> <br> I only ever hand-washed the bra, as recommended. It cost R900 which is a lot of money and suggests a certain level of quality. The owner, Maureen, refuses to refund me for the bra, despite it being in contravention of the CPA. I have looked online and there are numerous other complaints from women who have had the same thing happen to them, yet Maureen claims that it's all me. I am also lodging a complaint with the DTI. I would suggest staying very far away from Barclay & Clegg and the rude, unhelpful and downright insulting owners. <br>
