So disappointed with the service. When I called book express for a quote I was told I need to pay R1 000.00 in order for me to get a quote to ensure that I’m not waisting their time working on it for nothing. I paid the money and almost a month later I’m still waiting on this quotation. Shereen said the email was sent and I must check my junk mail but there was nothing since then I have been chasing and begging for this quotation. If I knew the service would be this ridiculous I would’ve honestly just went elsewhere where they will treat my order as priority! So quick to tell me they are one of the best in the game yet this is the service I get? Disgusting

I will not set foot there again. Customer service is zero with no acknowledgement when they do wrong. I bought two books for my postgraduate studies at Book Express not too long ago. The lady (Indian lady) who helped on that day gave me one book correct and the other was incorrect. The receipt had the correct titles on it. I checked and she reassured me that they were correct before leaving the store. When I rechecked at home, I noticed that one book does not correspond with the assigned prescribed book. Upon realising, I called the store yesterday (10/05/2022) to alert her that she gave me a wrong book but the receipt has the correct name. Mind you me, the book is still new. She tells me that she cannot exchange it and that there is nothing she could do. She further says that she does not think that she could make such a mistake. As a matter of fact, she does make mistakes, when I called her, she asked me if I was the lady who called her earlier about having bought a wrong book from her? It was my first time calling about the purchased wrong book. So, that means she yet gain sold a wrong book to another person. Then she has the audacity to say that there is no mistake on her side--she cannot help me at all. I have the receipt as proof and the wrong book has their barcode, but she refused to help me. This means that I wasted R565.00 on a book that is not part of my studies. Knowledge is knowledge, but who has money to be wasting on wrong books??? Her unmindfulness is costly. I've learnt a lesson. No more will I go to Book Express. Done, finito! I'm highly saddened and furious by the whole experience.

I went to Book Express (opposite University of Johannesburg in Westdene) with my son who is studying at Unisa to buy two different Unisa textbooks about 2 weeks ago. They only had one textbook but not the other. The owner, I believe, offered to order the other textbook for me. I agreed. He took my cell phone number and email address. i received an email on Tuesday the 4th of February that the book is now available and reserved for me for 48 hours. on the 5th of February I went to buy it as I did not want to delay my son on his studies. i bought and brought it home to my son who was surprised as it was the same as the textbook we bought two weeks ago. I called the bookshop to explain that there has been a mistake and that they ordered the wrong textbook. The owner's wife wouldn't hear of it. It was my fault and that is the end of it. My wife got involved and argued with her to no avail. On the 6th of February I went to the bookshop to discuss it so that we could come to an amicable agreement as he was at fault for ordering the wrong book and I was at fault in buying it without checking with my son. The owner told me that the bookshop has a "no return" policy and that the book will be sold as a second hand book. Some cheek! Wonderful customer service!

The experience at OK was disgusting. I asked the lady who serves the chips weither or not they were fresh and she said yes. I then decided to tast one, because of my previous experience of being lied to by the cashiers and the people in the store. They then Decided to call security and they poceded to press a panic button as if tasting one chip was a crime the cashiers were absolutely rood and disgusting. I will never go there again.
