I was de*****ed by Buksies Resort in December. On December 6, 2025 I encountered a troubling situation during my visit to Buksies Resort. I purchased tickets amounting to R1,100.00 (8 adults and 6 kids) for a day visit at Buksies Resort, which I paid for via Apple Pay on their speed point. However, by when I reviewed my bank statements on December 10, I discovered that I had been charged R11,000.00 instead of the intended amount. Upon realising this error, I attempted to contact the resort multiple times via phone and WhatsApp, but unfortunately, I received no response. Consequently, I decided to visit the resort in person to address the issue as adding an extra zero seemed like a mistake anyone can make. At the reception, I explained the situation to the staff, who subsequently fetched Jemina, whom I believe is a manager or supervisor onsite. I provided her with my bank statement to demonstrate the erroneous charge, as I did not have the original payment slip. Jemina requested transaction slips from the 6th from another colleague, revealing the R11,000.00 charge, which was sent to her. However, they expressed the need to verify that the transaction was indeed mine. I provided my card number, bank account details, and even checked for my virtual card numbers, but they still could not confirm the transaction. While still at the premises, an older staff member intervened and called their banker (O'Ryan from Absa) who agreed to review their statements for clarification. I was informed on Thursday the 11th around 15:30 that the banker was unable to locate the transaction which meant that the transaction is not showing on their bank statements. In an attempt to resolve this, I contacted FNB for assistance. They provided me with a 6-digit authorisation code to trace the transaction. When I returned to the resort on Friday the 12th to share this code (had to go physicaly since they do not answer their phones), the staff contacted their banker (without my participation in the conversation) and conveyed that the banker deemed the code useless for tracing the transaction. He insisted that I should direct my bank to contact him, as he does not engage directly with clients. It is concerning that a significant amount of money seems to be untraceable on a statement while the resort has a receipt that shows the R11 000.00. I am still awaiting feedback from my bank FNB which has also passed the 14-30 days turnaround time. AlsoI am wondering how ABSA can do business with such institutions.

Me and my family went to the resort for a weekend. Sunday morning when we checked out the lady found a Vaseline stain on the duvet. Because of the stain which can be washed out with normal washing detergent they refused to give me my R500 deposit back

I rate this zero stars, first of all it was overcrowded, we couldnt even use the facilties, then to top it off my niece was grobed on her breasts by the pool, when we approched Buksies management they said it was out their jurisdiction they did nothing to help instead let the guy get away. This was the worst experience ever , so it's ok to be touched inappropriately and nothing can be done is this behavior acceptable. I am very disppointed in Buksies.

We had a blast with the kids from work. We swam and enjoyed seeing some animals and I also went back with my family it was really lovely fun. Made friends too. Swimming pools are enough for many people and the entrance fee is not bad. My kids enjoyed their slides and the popular train ride around the resort.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Poor Management and Safety Concerns at Buksies Resort Dear Buksies Resort Management, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent experience my family and I had at your resort on 9 Dec 2023. While we appreciate the natural beauty and amenities your resort offers, several issues have compelled me to bring forth this formal complaint. 1. Poor Crowd Control: The lack of effective crowd control measures was evident during our stay. The resort seemed overcrowded, leading to discomfort and an overall diminished experience for guests. Eg people stood for hours waiting to braai, this could have been easily dealt with if there was a capacity limit to the resort to ensure people enjoy their hard earned money. 2. Inadequate Parking Management: The parking areas for cars were poorly managed, resulting in chaotic when one needs to exit, what happens if someone has an emergency and needs to leave and their locked in the parking area. A lack of organization posed a risk to both vehicles and pedestrians. 3. Quality Control Over Amenities: We were disappointed by the apparent lack of quality control over the amenities. Certain facilities were not well-maintained, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. Pools where overcrowded posing serious health risks. 4. Safety Concerns: It is disheartening to note that safety measures, particularly for families, seemed to be overlooked. This is a significant concern as it compromises the well-being of guests. The searching of cars was zero to none my brain canβt comprehend how many people would have snuck in weapons, writing an indemnity on the ticket wrist (effectively telling people to enter at their own risk) surely cant be enough and the establishment does not take steps to make the resort a safe family zone 5. Perceived Emphasis on Profit Over Safety It is disconcerting to feel that the resort's priorities are geared more towards financial gains than ensuring the safety and satisfaction of families who visit. This perception greatly diminishes the overall appeal and trust in your establishment. I believe these issues not only impact the reputation of Buksies Resort but also pose genuine risks to the well-being of your guests. I kindly request that you thoroughly investigate and address these concerns to improve the overall experience for future visitors. Thank you for your attention to these concerns. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Motseki Letsela

I had a very bad experience yesterday @ Buksies resort as I took my child and other kids there for my child's 1st birthday, so it happens that it rained and my brother took the kids back to the quantum, one of the security guards came and told my brother that he must move from where he parked and my brother said ok so this other guard with dreads by the name of Sfiso started fighting my brother they even hurt him in a way that he was bleeding and when I was seeking for help no body tried to help me even the other guards were just standing there watching my brother being attacked by 6 guards who are happen to be staff members, management was only called when I sent one of the kids to go ask for help from people who were at the park so I asked myself if is this place a child friendly when you have staff that attack people? When I asked management to call the cops they told me that, this Sfiso guy the police know so I ask myself why do they still hire him if he once did something like this before, are our kids safe in a place like that? I will never ever take my kids there I'm really broken π
