I have only good things to say about a 10 year+ service experience with Shaun from Camera Shack. His product knowledge and ability to understand me as photographer and my needs (sometimes constraints!) is bar none. Personal service is everything and I have never been dissapointed with any of my dealings - they always helped me to come to a solution that suited my budget and needs. I use Camera Shack exclusively for: new equipment, second hand equipment, rentals and servicing of my kit and so far have not been disspointed. One of my favourite suppliers to work with due to the human and personal touch they have. They come highly recommended from me and I'm so grateful to the photographer who passed on their details to me back in the day!

Sent rental docs, I'D and proof of address on the Monday morning. By Thursday morning after me having to chase up what's happening with my rental request/registration, no one picked it up, no one got back to me. Needed it for Eid day family photos and then was told my ID needed to be certified. I should've checked but the non existing service is gross. I'm use to using Orms who are extremely customer centered and much simpler to rent from. Nothing from Camera Shack regarding what can be done so that I can still take photos of my family on our holy day of Eid. Just complete silence. No response at all.

Literally the best rental company in the whole of Cape Town. All these other rental places can go sleep! Shoutout to the team for ALWAYS being on top of things and for their excellent service! I've been using them for years! Never had a single issue!

We had to shoot a wedding this weekend and with extra requests we had to jump and hire more equipment asap. On Thursday we contacted Eric from Camerashack and requested equipment. As we did not use them before and had no account we where worried that the application process will not be done in time. Eric came to our request the the whole process from application to collection was within 24 hours. The wedding was a great success. Would surely use them again. Special thanks to Eric.

I recently tried selling a Camera with two lenses to Shaun. After speaking to him and agreeing on a amount it took a while to get a date/time and place to meet. Shaun even wanted to EFT a deposit in for the Camera to keep it on "Hold" (surprise still waiting )To keep a long story short i arrived at the place that was arranged that was agreed upon earlier that morning..... Nobody showed..... After phoning a few times ( went to voicemail every single time ) . .... All the reviews and good things you hear about Camera shack was the reason i wanted to sell my camera with them. In the end it was just time wasted and i will not recommend Camera Shack to anyone in the Future

Called Shaun a few times to get a remote as well as battery grip, no answers and when he did he promised to call me back in a few minutes...of course there were no calls back. I called again I was a few meters away from his office about to park (3pm on a Thursday afternoon), said he couldn't help me as I should have called earlier to arrange a meeting with him (duh?). Even though I was right there as was he, he refused to help me as he was heading to the gym. Up to you, I however will never use this guy

<p>The 07TH September 2016 I bought a 70mm – 200mm F2.8 NON IS Canon lens from Camera Shack Paid R10500 via Eft.</p> <p>I received the lens a day or 2 later…very happy with my purchase however there were 2 items missing 1 the lens filter and 2 the tripod ring that comes with the lens as was advertised on their website.</p> <p>It is now the 30th of March 2017 and after promise after promise of going to deliver the accessories I had paid for I have come to the conclusion that I am probably not going to be getting it.</p> <p>I normally rent from Camera shack and have not had any issues in that regard they do an exemplary job.</p> <p>7 Months to make a client wait and then said client has to contact you the company for updates is not acceptable.</p> <p>So my next question is will I be seeing my tripod ring and filter before the next Christmas or will I need to spend R3500 approximately, having to buy it out of my own pocket?</p> <p> </p> <p>Kind Regards</p>

<p>In November I enquired for a Canon 50mm f1.4 lense at Camerashack in Cape Town. Shaun Melon, the owner, was very fast to respond with a quote after which I EFT'd the R3200 for the lense into the SPM Photography Gear account on the 18th of November. We have been trying to sort out means of dropping the lense off at specific locations and Shaun has failed to do so every single time without any prior notice or apologies. To this day the lense has not been delivered, Shaun has my money and I have no lense. This is a case of active fraud. He still fails to reply to whatsapp messages (after reading them) nor does he have will to pick up his phone. I am highly upset. </p>
