I’ve been trying to find the best words to speak on my experience at Capita (Pinelands). First off, the experience from the recruitment process to the training was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Kyle from the recruitment team was extremely supportive and helpful and Miss Monica deserves all her flowers, what a beautiful women, inside and out. Things started to change once we hit the operations floor. There are many things I can mention but I’ll only mention a few…. Management treats the agents like they’re toddlers. The amount of times I’ve overheard a manager reprimand an agent as if the agent was a child, is ridiculous. By all means, reprimand but do it in a professional manner because we’re still in an office setting after all and you’re not talking to your kid, you’re talking to your colleague who you happen to be the manager or team leader of. Further, one of my colleagues hit the floor without a laptop charger and spoke to more than one team leader about it and no one did anything or logged a ticket. After a few weeks, I had sound issues with the headsets I moved to the floor with, I told two team leaders about it and nothing happened. I had to then borrow headsets and ended up with headsets from a colleague who started training with me but left and used her ever since. I don’t know if a ticket was ever logged for a pair of headsets for myself. Furthermore, my team leader (Jayson Lawrence) sent out a list of dates and names for annual leave in the Teams group chat as if it was approved. I stayed home on the dates my name was out against. The first day I was not at work, no one asked me where I was. In the WhatsApp groupchat, the team leader spoke about people not coming to work and leave was not approved. He did not send me a direct message hence I didn’t think it was meant for me. Everything was said as a blanket statement and wasn’t told to me directly hence I didn’t think he was referring to me. It’s on the second day where I was called by a team leader (Danielle van Niekerk) asking me where I am. I told them and explained I thought I was on leave and then was told it was never approved. So my questions are, why were dates sent out in the first place ? In a group chat nonetheless ? Why not only inform the people whose leave were approved, directly about their leave days ?. When I returned to work, I had to go through the return to work process with a team leader (Danielle). I again explained the leave dates that were posted in the Teams group and she herself explained she doesn’t do that to set the expectation. So she indirectly admitted that my team leader (Jayson) who sent the dates created that expectation. I had to sign for a return to work that says it was my fault for not checking my AIDA but why is the team leader not being asked as to why he posted those dates if it was not approved ? I was not the only one who thought those dates were approved and even after my return to work it was never stated in the group that the dates are provisional and has not been approved…. Moreover, some of my colleagues who stay home because of illness are harassed and constantly asked where they are and if there are updates and where their doctor’s note is. What happened to you’ll get my doctor’s note once I’m back in office ? Can I not be sick in peace ? One of my colleagues were very ill and had to go to the clinic and was absent for a long time. She was willing to work and management informed her they’d communicate with her. She emailed, texted and no one was responding to any of her correspondence. I’m no HR expert but surely someone should have informed her services were no longer needed or responded at the least. Furthermore, everyday work attire guidelines were sent to the Teams groups however, even the team leaders themselves show up in flip flops etc but agents are the only individuals to be held accountable ? One team leader was using his phone to watch a soccer match when I went up to him to ask for assistance with a customer. I do understand that sometimes a call centre is regarded as a more casual environment but some things are still regard as unprofessional regardless of whether the environment is casual. Another point of concern, we were informed we would be receiving shift allowance on the 15th of every month in the amount of R650. The 15th of December comes around and we get paid R150. My issue is the lack of communication surrounding this….The same day we had a team meeting with our team leader and we mention it with our other colleagues who were there before us and they confirm the same happened to them the previous month. Our team leader joins the meeting and we mention it then and he then acts shocked and asks who got R150, meanwhile all of us got R150 and I was in my transport one night speaking about this particular issue and a team leader from another campaign advised there was no reason for my team leader to act shocked because they sign off on the amounts before it’s sent off to be paid to employees. Even the transport service providers treat agents like they’re nothing. I didn’t book transport one day which was my fault. We were told the drivers could assist us but we might have to wait for an hour or two, which I had no problem with because it’s my I fault after all. I go to the transport and I speak to one of the drivers as he drove me the previous night. He then asks where I live and I answer “kraaifontein” and he goes “do I look like a Kraaifontein driver” loudly, and everyone laughs. Firstly, I don’t know him like that for him to be comfortable to speak to me that way. Secondly, he’s at work and why is there no level of professionalism ? Thirdly, he then quietly tells one driver he’s going to brackenfell and he won’t drive me because I am too far. I heard him, I then decided I’ll uber home because I will not be treated that way. I then express I’m taking uber and all of a sudden the driver seems concerned and asked if I’m sure as if he didn’t just softly say he was not gonna drive me even if he was going in the direction of of where I stay. Before I resigned I didn’t get paid the full amount I’m entitled to and when enquiring about it, all my team leader (Jayson) could say was “I’ll look into it”. He’s good at making it seem like he’s doing something when in reality he’s doing absolutely nothing. A team leader’s job does not end when services are terminated but that relationship continues even after. None of those people care about the people they lead or manage, they’re only concerned about making numbers, micromanaging and slave driving for their own bonuses. So many people have left that place and they’re too in denial to admit it’s a them problem rather than an employee problem. When I raised these things with HR, sent endless emails but got no response. After I resigned, I also received an email requesting I fill it out speaking on my experience. I listed all my issues on the form as well as an email, and Ben that they didn’t acknowledge receipt of or even bother to respond. They’re good at ignoring you when you’re no longer there to provide your services. There are so so many bad reviews of Capita online. Please check TikTok and google….even if you’re desperate, don’t go to Capita, just don’t do it.

I was working at Capita for about a year and few months and that was 2022-2023. This year, last month, I didn't not receive my IRP5 form from them, I then requested for my Tax returns (IRP5) multiple times and till today there is no response whatsoever about the form and I'm not the only one complaining about this.

Capita has been good to me whilst working there, but now that I have resigned, I have asked for my IRP5 form which they have send it to me, however when i try to submit my tax return it says the details is incorrect and mind you its the details they have given me and I have emailed them numerous times and yet no response. I mean for such a big company and you doing this. Tax season is almost over and I still have not receive anything back from them.

When i started at Capita like a year ago. it was not bad at all. The Managers at M&S are treating the people so bad and the payroll system are so mess up. There is this Operating Manager who's name is Megan and Fatima as well. The two of them will talk **** about a person And not for forgetting how they will judge you for what you are wearing but they are not better then you either. So i moved over to British Airways and the management there sucks like ****. There is this one manager who will lie in your face while they promise you a bunch of ****. HR could not promise a person permit because we camed from a different campaign because British Airways were in need of people and most of the people who was in training left because HR was playing ball ball with our Feelings and our Money as well. We had to fight with Operating Manger to earn the same salaries who was internal because we were longer then them in the company. Managers do not care about your well being and if a person gets dismiss from them then they deduct your hard earning equal to your basic salary. Payroll always ****s **** up and i am still waiting on my money but they refuse to pay but would turn a blind eye to it. They will just care about their own pockets and plus you CANNOT TRUST A ****ING A TEAM LEADER, OR A MANAGER NONE OPERATING MANAGER OR HR. They are all the damn same

This Company is junk I worked for this company for only a month and they never stated that I resigned. I've been running around for my UIF and them not updating that I resigned is holding back the process of my UIF claim. I am livid and nobody in the HR department has the courtesy to come back to me or update that I resigned.

Shares hasn't been paid, been told it's next month since February already. Year is almost over yet nothing. Bonus hasnt been paid out but we are expected to accept it's been escalated. It's the 18th of September the money was suppose to be paid in the August payroll run off. Every single day it's we've escalated the matter. And how about if you want to take your own annual leave select the days you require it then get told no but you follow the correct process. Get told that you can only get 1 day of you own annual leave what **** is that? Staff are neglected and not treat with respect. It's a disgrace that this ace has no people skills but have people working under them.

I am giving this company a 1 star rating because they do not care when you have been dismissed, retrenched or any other form of leaving the company. I have been running around and sending emails to human resources department, to get my ui19 documents for my uif and also to get a response with regards to my provident fund, I also did not receive any emails from capita stating what the process would be after I left. You just left in the dark and that's that, I also went to the branch today and they politely told me H.R is working from home, I asked for a WORKING EMAIL as the previous email I received from my previous team leader did not work, they gave me the email for the head of H.R, and guess what, that email doesn't work either, I will be taking further action against this company and seeking ccma assistance, I am now just left in a difficulty, 6 years of service and they let me go with nothing and over something stupid.
