I bought a vehicle report for $1 which showed me absolutely nothing (R16 odd South African Rand) and next thing I know they're deducting $50 (R825) from my account unsolicited and without my permission or any clear warning about it. BE WARNED, CAR-BUDDY.CO IS A ****.

It should not even be given 1 star. This service should be shut down. I looked for a VIN number and it asked me for a payment of R16.46 for the report. Since the amount wasn't huge, I trusted and made the payment. They said they would send me credentials to log in and access the report, but I got nothing so far. I emailed and all I got was a standard response saying "Please check your inbox and spam folder for the login credentials. If you still can't find them, a senior agent will reset your access and ensure you receive the vehicle report soon. — Support Team" I rep**** saying I had received nothing and got the very same email from them saying the same thing. So far, I got no report and no support. Please DO NOT USE this service. It's a **** and should be taken down.

Unauthorised subscription R850.84 Account Deduction
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the service I received from Vin Check Car Buddy. I visited your website to check my vehicle VIN history, where I was presented with a plan indicating that I needed to pay R13 for a single VIN check. I approved this payment in good faith. However, I was charged twice (R13 x2) for one view, and I never received the promised PDF report. Furthermore, a few days later, an amount of R850.87 was deducted from my account as a subscription fee without my consent or any agreement on my part. This is completely unacceptable, as I did not authorize any recurring subscription. I have since contacted your support team requesting a full refund of the unauthorized charges. Unfortunately, instead of resolving the matter, I am being delayed and offered only a 50% refund. It is unreasonable for me to be charged for an error that was not mine. I kindly request the following: - A full refund of the duplicated R13 charges - A full refund of the unauthorized R850.87 subscription fee - Immediate cancellation of any subscriptions linked to my account Please treat this matter as urgent. If it is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate the issue further through the relevant consumer protection authorities. ****!!! This doesn't even deserve a star. Please do not use car buddy. The company will deduct money from your account and not provide you with the report. There's no way to contact them except through a useless AI automated email. Quick to deduct but impossible to get your refund back. Absolutely pathetic.

Billed one amount returned no report just a breakdown onscreen of the VIN number I provided. Total joke. Then billed another unauthorised amount much bigger than the advertised amount. Highly suspicious activity and no support.
