It is very unfortunate that an option for a negative rating is unavailable, Car Service City Montague Gardens and the team are deserving of a negative rating. I would strongly advise anyone who values their vehicle and thinking of going through to Car Service City, Montague Gardens branch to have their vehicle serviced or repaired - Don't do it!!! They may have reasonable prices, but the shoddy workmanship and after service / repair communication, or lack thereof, will have you wishing you had gone to a reputable service / repair workshop the first time. Don't waste your money on Car Service City, take it from me, not worth it. I am having to fork out thousands of rands to replace the thermostat along with other parts that have failed as a result on my 2014 Opel Astra after the part failed within the stipulated guarantee and they have been refusing to take accountability, even with a diagnostic report from the dealer. So, take this advice and get your car repaired / serviced at a reputable service provider, Adam and his team at CSC Montague Gardens are useless.

I took my wife's Polo in for a Major service and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly owner and staff that welcomed me and kept me informed of everything that had to be done for my approval. I would recommend them to anyone.

👍 I recently took my car to Car Service City for a major service and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Adam's professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. Not only did they fully diagnose my vehicle and explain what needed to be fixed, but they also rated the importance of each issue, which was incredibly helpful. The extra touches of washing and vacuuming the entire vehicle, including the engine, were much appreciated. They even added an air freshener and some sweets! Thank you, Adam and the team at Car Service City, for the fantastic service. I'll definitely be back!

Do not rely on big business car mechanics! After having a horrible experience at Car Care Clinic Tableview, I was hopeful that Car Service City Montague Gardens would be more trustworthy and reliable, but that was not the case. I took the car in, they did all their paperwork and inspections and I was real impressed. I left and I started waiting. I was phoned with a quote and I agreed to have some components fixed. Afterwards, I had to call a few times to get an update since they did not keep me posted. It took unnecessarily long to fix the parts that they did. I paid excessively much for the parts that were fixed, but I thought it was because they spend their time fixing everything properly. I drove home and quickly realised that the issues I had, was still there. Disappointing. Weeks later, I got a mechanic to come inspect my car and to see what the real damage was. We picked up that a pipe that they 'fixed' was torn and perished, among some other things that no one picked up.

Dear Eugene I am sending this email to you as a report and starting point of what seems to be an issue on your side. I have included the Service Advisor and the Service Manager in this email for transparency purposes. I brought my Mercedes into you for a service which cost me R2795.00 on the 28th July 2023 Which covered the following according to your report which is attached above. Carried Out 195000 KM Service Oil 5w30 Fully synthetic, low ash Oil Filter Air Filter I sent you an email on the 10th August (Attached above) after receiving the car back with a list of issues, I was asked by yourself to bring the car back to be checked and the issues resolved. I was told by you that there needed to be another diagnostic check but there was nothing really you guys could do. I received the car back and nothing had changed. The problems still persisted, until Tuesday the 22nd August where the car just died with all the lights coming on multiple times. I had to have the car towed to the nearest Mercedes Dealership which was Century City for them to assess what the problem was. I received a report from Wendy the Service Advisor to say that the reason why there was no power and dying was because the Air Filter was not fitted correctly! (as you can see from the Car service City report this was done) So Mercedes have fixed it and want to Charge me over R2000 for fixing the problem that was actually not correctly done by your company that serviced my car. So I will be getting a report from them and sending this through to you and this will be for your account to be paid as this was suppose to be done and fitted correctly the first time. Hi Eugene Can you please send me the information that states that I should only take my to a Car Service City branch. I brought my car back to you guys twice. Once for the initial service, 2nd time due to issues which were not sorted out and something as simple as the air filter which is on your report of the items that were done at the service, was not picked up the 2nd time you said you had the car checked. Clearly no one is checking that the work is done correctly! I then had a break down, due to the air filter issue and had to have my car towed to the dealership, because my warranty stipulates that I need to take it to the nearest Dealership which is Mercedes Century City and not to you, Mercedes then picked up that the Air Filter was not fitted correctly the first time and they want to charge me for your mistake. Now you saying that I have broken the Guarantee, which was not stipulated to me. I will not accept this and so please to send me your Branch Manager / Owner’s contact details, please include a contact number. I will be going to all Social Media with my story and Hello Peter as I think this is grossly unfair and very bad business practice that you are not willing to acknowledge your mistake and to take responsibility for your actions and not doing anything regarding your customer service. I look forward to the details as soon as possible.

I took my car for a major service at the Montague Gardens Branch as usual on the 28 September (Wednesday). 1. They took 5.5 hours to do the Major service. 2. The next day the 29 September I was stuck in Cape Town CBD, the car not engaging on gears. Towed the to car services city Montague gardens. (For a car that was not giving me any issues when I took it to car service city). Spoke to them and they first suggested that the clutch had a problem and replied and said there was no chance it could be because the clutch kit was changed a year ago and flywheel skimmed and the kit was LUK. They then suggested that the bearing might have collapsed. The next QUESTION is why was this not picked up if the car came to the branch with a faulty clutch. Took the car to a private mechanic only to find the pressure plate was broken and not opening for the input shaft. (Note: when a pressure plate is tearing/breaking (normally) the is a certain squeaky/springy noise that comes from the engine bay). Took the pressure plate to the Branch. They still insisted they were not aware of it. Yesterday I took the car for alignment, only to be told the wheel bearing and shock are bent. Why was this not picked up on the safety check? I AM VERY VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED FROM CAR SERVICE CITY MONTAGUE GARDENS. I WILL NEVER EVER SET FOOT IN 1 OF YOUR FACILITIES. THANK YOU
