I am beyond disappointed with Car Service City Sandton. I took my car in for a routine service while it was in perfect working condition. There were no issues at all before the service. After collecting it, I immediately started experiencing serious problems — the engine began overheating, and suddenly there were radiator issues that never existed prior to them touching my car. What was supposed to be a straightforward service has now left me with major engine damage and unnecessary stress. I trusted them with a well-maintained vehicle, only to get it back worse than ever. Their lack of accountability and care is unacceptable. If you value your car, your money, and your peace of mind, avoid this branch completely. They turn a simple service into an expensive disaster.

The most disgusting service ever experienced . My car has been inside the workshop since 28 December!@ I get it that January businesses are short staffed. But the run around and bul**** excuses is NOT acceptable. Especially from the Owner JD Doesn't even bother to call back. Was promised a revised quote, took 3 days and a call to HOto get the exact same Invoice!@ I am now promised a discount yeh right This is a R52k job so one eud think you treat the customer with some respect. Don't take your car there if you need major repairs. Unfortunately for me this was the only workshop open 😕 🙃

Absolutely appalled by the service received at this branch. I went for repairs for tyres a total of 3 times in one month only for the rude admin lady to mention a car inspection done in 2019 being responsible for my 2021 brakes being faulty. What kind of tomfoolery is that? I take my car in for checks there every year and I was greatly disappointed by the lack of service I received even after paying the first time. To add insult to injury, one of the workers then proceeded to try and flirt with me and take my number to take me out which I felt was grossly inappropriate considering how I was a dissatisfied customer and my problem was still not resolved. The same worker who knows how bad their branch is, then attempted to refer me to another mechanic elsewhere for him to benefit financially. This branch is seriously underwhelming in terms of their performer, they have poor customer relations skills and they are ineffective in car inspections and providing the customer with a valid and detailed report back on work that was completed and work that would be required on the vehicle.

Had an absolutely terrible experience at car service city Sandton, their customer service is non-existent. They promised to have my car done within a day but then took an extra three days to complete the job and they blamed it on Telkom because they didn't have phones to order the parts. They did not apologise or offer any form of compensation or show any kind of remorse, the guy at the front desk, Greg Woolg... even went as far as insulting me and mocking me. As a consumer, I feel so upset and victimized I cannot even use words to express it, I would not recommend visiting this branch as they are so unfriendly and insulting.

I took my car in for a strip and quote as my engine was making hideous noises. Car Service City Parkmore quoted me R1500 for a strip and quote. Fast forward a few days and they've stripped my car and quoted me R47k to get it fixed. This happens to be about the value of the car itself. So, I declined the quotation and said I that I would come and pay the (agreed) R1500 strip and quote fee. At this point the guy working there says, "No wait a minute, we put a lot of time into it. It cost us R5 000 to do" (to paraphrase). After much disagreement, we managed to tow my car out of there for the originally quoted price. At this point I'm sitting with a car with the engine (in pieces). Do I s**** it or do I get a new engine or do I try and get the old one fixed somewhere at another workshop? I decided to purchase an Engine from (Engines and More in Pretoria -these guys are legit) and get the engine delivered to another workshop. The other workshop (one of the workshops with the highest google rating in Johannesburg) put the new Engine in but noticed something funny with my old engine: The crank shaft Car Service City had given back to me did not fit my block (it was too small). Also, the crank shaft they had given me indicated that the engine had seized, but my engine had not seized (I drove it into the workshop). Furthermore, the other parts of the engine that would be damaged if the engine had seized, were fine... In other words, it appears as though Car Service City had fabricated the whole story. The car may not have had any severe issue after all (well, perhaps not severe enough to replace an entire engine). In total, the entire car repair endeavour cost about R34 000. As an added bonus, they had also neglected to give me back the piston for my clutch pump and so I had to buy a new clutch pump (about R 1500). Also, when I removed my car from Car Service City I noticed that my car’s Bluetooth receiver and cellphone holder were missing from my car (because it's obviously necessary to remove these accessories when you are dismantling an engine). I approached them about these accessories, and they 'found' them in the back. So to summarise: Do not use car Service City Parkmore/Sandton (I can’t speak for other branches). First, confirm the reputability of a dealer. These days, Google Reviews and HelloPeter at least give you a decent indication of how trustworthy an establishment is.
