I phoned Cavalli 7 Nov for a picnic booking 8 Nov 23. 1st attempt, no answer with an option to leave a message. A few min later I phoned again, lady will transfer my request to restaurant, I told her that I already phoned , there's no answer. She took all my details and repeated my contact number to leave a message that I wanted to book the picnic for the next day available from 12:00. The time of this second call was 9:50 am. Still in time as they requested 24 hours. I phoned for the 3rd time at 11:36 and spoke to Gerda. Sorry, I was supposed to book before 11;00 for the next day. No exceptions, I ask a few times as it's a special day because it's my life partner's birthday. We love picnic's, he grows up with horses, and used to do show jumping and as we are cycling past Cavalli, we love the scenery, especially with the horses. For these reasons I've decided to book a surprise picnic. On the website, it stated bookings 24 hours prior. With all 3 phone calls before 12:00, they will only book my picnic for the 9th, and not the 8th on the birthday. Lizanda 7 November 2023 082 578 1689 The screenshot will show the 3 calls and the time

Yesterday i attended a function with 200 ladies and we were served the worst Lamb Shank i have ever eaten , It had a funny smell , the gravy was watery and the was no taste on the meat . I have eaten a lamb shank on numerous occasions , this one was hard and did not fall of the bone and its such a shame that such a beautiful establishment would give such service We them complain to the waiter who brought the manager and she said the is nothing wrong with the meat and refused to taste it. More and more people started to complain and some even got sick and started to go to the LOO . But still that was not enough the Dessert arrived that too was a disaster Mulva pudding that was brad like (stale) and the topping watery and tasteless by then we didn't even bother to complain as we were told we are "ignorant" they have had many functions and never once have they had a complain. I am rather very disappointed in the manner that they handled themselves i am not sure if it is racial or just plain ignorance but if you are having a function at CAVALLI i suggest you bring your won carter . One of the managers whilst taking pictures outside said to the other guest "you can always act ignorant and pretend that you don't know like the rest of them" them being us in the other venue . My jaw dropped as he was looking at us

Waiters were so racist, treated the white customers differently. I was so uncomfortable, felt unwelcomed in the restaurant. Never going back there again. Our waiter was not even present.

Future brides, if you’re looking for a venue that will ease your minds during Covid and the constant postponements happening this is NOT the venue for you. Our wedding should’ve been on the 25th of April 2020 and when we were not given the option to postpone to a weekday only (despite booking a high season weekend day) we went into litigation. We have had nothing but a bad taste since March 2020 and are now being sued for a wedding that couldn’t take place. Despite Cavalli sitting with our 50% deposit since Jan of 2019 and now waning full payment for a wedding that didn’t take place due to lock down level 5. So if you want to be sued by your venue 100% recommend Cavalli. If you want peace of mind and a stress free planning experience I would look elsewhere in the wine-lands.

I went to the Cavalli wine estate for a wine tasting. We were led to the outside area of Equus restaurant. The lady there told us the seating was full and we can sit on the restaurant side- because we also wanted a cheese platter. A waiter by the name of Issac gave us menus then disappeared on us. He left for a solid 10 minutes and didn’t attend to us until we called him. Eventually when he came back, he told us we cannot do the tasting any longer and had to order from the restaurant. After a weak attempt at a liaison between him and the host, he told us we must go and speak to the host ourselves. I have been looking forward to seeing this wine farm and enjoy their facilities but was extremely disappointed.
