I WAS BEATEN UP BY SECURITY GUARD COZ I WAS WEARING SHORTS
27.01 after midday was walk-in to the PEP store on corner Joubert and Market Street in Johannesburg CBD. A male PEP staff member greets me and asks "where are you pants" (i was wearing short pants and a hoodie). I replied in shock "what kind of question is that" and i walk away. The guy follows me telling me to leave the store. i reply angrily now coz i feel im being harassed. i walk away and the guy keeps following an insulting me. I turn back to and demand to speak to a manager. he carries on and comes charging at me starts kicking and slapping in front of the every one there. I was informed that he doesn't work for PEP directly but for CCJ Securty. I spoke to a Carl Sutton who promised me someone will contact me today, but no one has. I've had to miss work coz of the physical and emotional distress brought on by being assaulted and humiliated in public by a staff member who has a problem with how women should dress.

I visited PEP Stores at Diepkloof Square yesterday at 17:35 and found the door closed. I asked the security why they closed early he said because the store is packed. I asked to speak to the manager he said the manager will come to me when he is done. I told him that it could be 18h00 already when the manager is done. He told me they need to leave at 18h00 I explained taht the store closes at the time and they should explain to us why they closed early as there was no notice on the door. He was very rude and even slammed the door at me and it hurt my ankle. I called the CJJ office to report this matter I was advised I would get feedback by 8am this morning and I have heard nothing from them. I refuse to feel threatned as a customer in a store by a security guard that is meant to make us feel safe. I need urgent feedback from the head of CCJ to explain such ridiculous and terrible treatment.
