HelloPeter Complaint (Cedar Storage) Cedar Storage has handled my case in a shocking and unprofessional manner. There was a break-in on 14 December 2025 at their facility, during which all my furniture and personal belongings were ******. I was never notified of this incident. I only discovered the theft in the second week of January when I went to my storage unit. Despite knowing my unit was empty due to the theft, their finance department still demanded and accepted payment for January. I effectively paid for an empty storage unit. I sent multiple emails requesting feedback, CCTV footage, and an incident report, but received no response. I was later told this information could not be shared due to the POPI Act, yet this was never clearly communicated at the time. The lack of transparency is unacceptable. The site manager’s attitude was arrogant and dismissive, and I was told I had supposedly been called which I dispute. If I was notified, why was I still charged for the following month? I was also informed that the locks sold by Cedar Storage can be opened using keys from other lockers, which raises serious concerns about security. While their contract may protect them legally, the lack of accountability, communication, and basic customer care is alarming. I advise potential customers to be extremely vigilant before trusting Cedar Storage with their belongings. I want my refund for those months but I know with that arrogance the chance it’s very slim.

I called to enquire on their storage facility and the lady didn't want to assist and sounded very irritated on the phone and she eventually dropped the phone while I was speaking. Well if that doesn't raise a red flag then I don't know. Good luck!

If I could give half a star I would. After the experience I had yesterday I am utterly disguted with the customer service at Cedar Storage. When I was looking to get a storage unit everyone was more than happy to help and go the extra mile to arrange a unit. I've been a paying customer for about 5 months now and after my experience yesterday I would honestly move somewhere else. I have just moved to a new place and I have been trying to juggle work and moving at the same time. I managed to arrange a bakkie yesterday to get a couch and table for my place which would have taken me and 10 minutes max to remove from my unit and load onto the bakkie. I went to Cedar Storage after work yesterday as it was the only time I've had available. I arrived at 17:50 and after waiting a few minutes and not being let in, I called and they told me I must wait for security and speak to them. The security came out the office at 18:00 and refused to let me enter the complex and spoke to me with such an attitude. She told me that I was lying about waiting outside for 10 minutes and told me that it is after hours and that I must leave and come back to the unit tomorrow. After begging and pleading and ensuring that it won't take us longer than 10 minutes to remove those two items, she said again "I told you its after hours, I told you to go home and come tomorrow ". Is that really how Cedar Storage and their staff treat loyal and paying customers. I'm absolutely horified that Cedar Storage is only willing to go the extra mile when getting new customers but are not willing to assist paying customers that are using their units.

Thank you to Anthony and his amazing team for keeping my belongings safe in storage. I can recommend Cedar Storage to store your belongings. The storage facility is very clean and tidy. My goods were safe and the facility is very easy to get to.
