I absolutely had to share with the Atlasville community. We recently listed and sold our house. I know, we love this neighborhood and have had an amazing 9 years in the suburb. Point of my post is this. We had 4-5 different estate agents coming through to evaluate our property. We decided to go with Greg Mckey from Century 21 , for several reasons, he evaluated the property at R50-R150k higher than the other agents, but here is the kicker, he told us that he has a list of people waiting to buy property in Atlasville. Most of the other agents told us this is just a sales tactic and we won't get the price or it won't sell as quickly. They were terribly mistaken, We signed our mandate with Greg on Friday, and on Monday, before the house was even listed on Property 24, we had 2 viewers, on the same Monday we received an offer to purchase for the full asking price. Seriously my fellow community members, if you are considering selling your property do yourself and your property justice and give Greg a call. His service is impeccable, he is true to his word and he doesn't have to wait to find clients for your property. He has the clients already waiting to move into our beautiful suburb and community. A big thank you to the community for an amazing 10 years in the suburb. Please continue fighting to keep this suburb amazing. Greg is an absolute legend and inspiration, there is no waiting around and wondering, he provides constant updates, his work ethic is amazing. This is not just a job for this agent, this is a lifestyle and you can see this through every interaction. Where Greg is miles apart from other agents is that he has the clients but waiting for stock, the other agents have stock but are looking for clients. I truly, truly wish Century 21, Greg and the Team all the success for 2026. If I had more properties I would definitely call Greg again and again

Greg McKey from Century21 East rand is the most wonderful and warm human being as well as a top tier real estate agent. I am a first time home owner and he made the process as smooth and as comfortable as possible. No tricks, no games - he is always straight up and honest about everything. He makes sure that you as the buyer or even the seller are both as happy as possible. Yes all agents have sales tricks up their sleeves but he is the most genuine that there is - he makes you feel like family and his intuition is astute. Highly recommend this agency and Greg :)

I moved out of an apartment that was sold over a month ago, I personally repainted, spent hours on my hands and knees with a toothbrush/ brush and washed the skirtings and grouting of the whole apartment, I also re did some silicone and all this so that when the apartment is sold, it was basically spotless (non was required by me to do). The day the key was collected I told the agent I had forgotten to move the washing machine (we decided to leave the Fridge and Washing Machine in the time I was cleaning) and clean under there, a whole 70cm/70cm area. We were told its fine, they (new owners) will be collecting the Washing Machine and will clean it out. Fast forward A MONTH LATER, and we get a call to go and clean the little area where the washing Machine was standing, extremely unprofessional from a company that took R70000 in commission for pretty much doing nothing. They took pictures, listed on the Monday, that Thursday the place was sold. Maybe next time, your fragile agents can just clean that little section out or maybe with the thousands you ***** with commissions you could just hire a cleaner. Extremely unprofessional and greedy.

I recently app**** for a rental through Century 21, and the process was handled by Chressina Langa. Everything started off smoothly — she communicated well, completed the vetting, and confirmed that we qualified for the unit. On 20 October, we paid a R20,000 deposit to secure the property, which was supposed to be available in December. I kept following up about the signed lease, but there were continuous delays. Then, on 26 October, Chressina informed us that the property owner had also been advertising the same unit privately, and that another person had already paid a deposit directly to the owner. She said that we would therefore need to be refunded by Tuesday. I explained that we urgently needed the money to secure another rental and requested that the refund be processed by Monday instead. Christina said she would speak with Pelisha Naidoo, who handles accounts. On Monday, I called to follow up and was told to speak to Philisha Naidoo regarding the refund. Since then, it has been over a week, and we have not received our R20,000 refund. We have been following up daily, but have received no clear feedback or assistance from the Century 21 team. The last email we got from Pelisha was on that Monday — and since then, complete silence. This experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. We trusted Century 21 to act professionally and safeguard clients’ funds, but this situation has left us with no confidence in their service. We have since opened a case with SAPS and are in the process of reporting the matter to the Rental Housing Tribunal/Board so that we can recover our money. We’re sharing this to warn others to be cautious when dealing with this agency, especially when paying deposits upfront.

I would not recommend this rental agency. Their communication is extremely poor – they fail to provide proper notice of important matters, and then later try to bill you for amounts you were never informed of. Instead of assisting or resolving issues, they shift blame onto the tenant and demand payment without clear justification. I found them unhelpful, unprofessional, and unwilling to take accountability for their own lack of communication. Be very cautious when dealing with them – always insist on everything in writing, because otherwise they will try to hold you liable for charges you never agreed to. If I could ive zero stars, I would...

I am extremely unhappy with the service I received from Christine du Plesie. She requested that I fill in a pre-qualification form and pay a R495.00 credit check fee before arranging a viewing of an apartment. I did exactly that, under the impression that once the pre-qualification was done, a viewing would be scheduled. However, after confirming that my application was successful, she came back to say that in order to arrange a viewing, I would first need to pay the upfront deposit and first month’s rental. This makes no sense and goes against the initial terms, which were that a pre-qualification (and payment for the credit check) was the pre-requisite for viewing. When I challenged her on this, she ignored the fact that I had already paid the R495.00, and instead insisted on upfront rental and deposit before even showing the property — something no credible agent would ever demand. This is highly unprofessional and appears to be a **** tactic to mislead applicants.

Be careful who you choose as a property practitioner, Century 21 East Rand regarding the conduct of one of their candidate agents and the subsequent response from their Principal, Mr. Savas Nicolaides. Unprofessional Conduct: I was confronted in public by a Century 21 candidate agent, without any introduction or professionalism, in front of members of the public. This is in direct contravention of the professional standards expected in our industry. False Advertising: Despite the seller formally withdrawing her mandate, the property was re-advertised on Property24 under Century 21. Even more concerning, the property was listed at R2,990,000, whereas the seller had explicitly instructed that her asking price was R3,000,000. Advertising a property at a price not agreed to by the seller, or after withdrawal, constitutes false advertising and is a breach of the PPRA Code of Conduct and the Consumer Protection Act. Principal’s Dismissive Response: When I raised these concerns with Mr. Nicolaides (the Principal), instead of addressing the issues or taking accountability, his response was to dismiss my complaint as “nonsense” and to tell me to lay a complaint with the PPRA. This is highly concerning, as a Principal is legally responsible for the supervision and conduct of their agents. This behaviour not only reflects poorly on the Century 21 brand, but also undermines trust in the industry. Consumers and sellers deserve to know that: Their instructions must be respected. Properties cannot legally be advertised at prices they have not agreed to. Professional conduct and accountability are non-negotiable.

I had the worst experience having to chase their agent, Natecha Avelar for over a month. She was not responsive, when I eventually got her attention by telling her that I will go directly to her offices she still dragged her feet with the application process and again I had to chase her for feedback. She is the worst person to work with. It seemed to me that she had her own preferences, wasted my time.
