I had one of the worst experiences at Checkers St George’s Mall. The service was absolutely terrible. Staff were disorganized and clearly prioritized customers paying with cash over those using cards, which makes no sense in 2025. People who had just joined the line were being helped first, while the rest of us who’d been waiting patiently were ignored. Because of this nonsense, I ended up being late, even though I arrived with plenty of time to spare. There was zero communication or effort to manage the line fairly. Honestly, this kind of service is unacceptable — Checkers needs to seriously sort out their staff training and priorities.

Disappointed
I bought wine at checkers liquors St George’s yesterday and only drank it today. To my surprise it had something looking like salt and stones. I noticed this on the second glass and I’m now worried that I’ve consumed the wine and might get sick. I took the pictures of the glass showing this.

Bad bakery
Not a good experience on 14 may 2025 at 17:37 i was waiting at the bakery and both of the staff at first was on there phones then 1 helped a client and the other was still on het phone wile i still stood there waiting after n time the 1 looked up and saw me standing there waiting if please check the cameras and be sure to learn them that this is not expectable

Checkers, George, Western Cape.
We shop for years and spent thousands of Rands to buy groceries. From the beginning of 2024 a new atmosphere of poor service and attitude has evolved in this once friendly old Checkers. Unfriendly cashiers and no packers are available, and no managers present to report these dire issues. The number of customers in sharp decline at the end of the month and is unusual for this branch. People are complaining and are moving to other supermarkets in George.
