Do not fall for the online car licence renewal if you expect the type of service expected from the words "online renewal". This service was always dead slow but is now even worse and it has taken over SIX weeks to finally receive confirmation that it is ready for collection and others have had the same experience. Why does it take six weeks to print a sheet of paper? You are then told where to collect it so where does the online saving come in except they have your money for six weeks. At least previously it took about a month for one to receive the licence by post so the computer must have slowed down.

This happens at Bellville Licensing Department 04/12/2025 around 14h00. I send my husband to renew register my car and pay for the outstanding licensing's wrote a letter giving a permission to my husband to obtain licensing on my behalf. He was treated bad Infront of our daughter the lady that was working at desk No6 was shouting at him telling him of his age difference between me and him as he is a pensioner and I am not of which I do not know where does that have to do with the disc .When my husband try to explain to her that he is there to pay for the cars that is under me .The Lady retaliated call him names and everyone was listening to her even her core colleagues this happen around 14hoo or few minutes before 14h00. Please this issue needs to be addressed to this lady, and my private life has nothing to do with her. It is so disappointing to hear how ugly other people addresses other my husband is older than her she has no right to attack him of his choices. The disc was only thing we want not this commission.

The Fish Hoek Licensing Centre has in the past been excellent but standards have slipped . They no longer offer senior citizen preferences . There is zero control on people entering the waiting areas for eye tests and the cashiers .As a result friends ,relatives etc enter and take up seating accommodation and create confusion in the queuing priority .A simple system of handing out a token at the check in counter would enable the security to control entry into the waiting room area . The staff remain friendly polite and efficient when you finally get to them . Two hours is a ridiculous time to have wasted in this process . Socks need pulling up
