Really bad check-in expierence. Waited 1 hour 15 minutes from 2pm to check in. Guest who come after me get checked in. Their explanation? You have a standard room. Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

We had a company dinner and was highly recommended that we try the Saffron restaurant in Coastlands Umhlanga. We booked for the past Saturday for 9 of us. Each and every one of us were disappointed with many things. The food in general was lacking flavour and was focused more on quantity than quality. For this price, we expected good food but was left unsatisfied with the evening. The service of the staff was amazing but they could do nothing about the food presented. From the starters to the mains, it was lacking. The variety of desserts were limited and sad to say but the local bakery had better quality desserts than what was offered. would not recommend to anyone to go here, for this price the food has let them down.

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent stay at coastlands Apartments Durban. Unfortunately, the issues started from the moment I arrived. The place was dirty, had a terrible smell, and was extremely noisy. Despite requesting a refund on the same day I checked in, the management refused to assist me. I even reached out to booking.com, but unfortunately, they didn't approve my cancellation request. Given the unacceptable conditions and poor customer service, I would strongly advise against staying here. Hopefully, the management will take steps to address these issues in the future. Rating: 0/5 stars

I Wish for more stars Subject: Heartfelt Gratitude for Exceptional Service at Coastlands Umhlanga I would like to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for the exceptional service provided by your hotel and banqueting staff during the recent Avoca Secondary School Matric dance. It is with great pleasure that I extend my sincerest compliments to your team for their outstanding contribution, particularly to Mary, Zintle, Pumi, Dennis, and Tinesh Singh, whose dedication and professionalism went above and beyond the call of duty. From the moment we stepped into Coastlands Umhlanga, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality, setting the perfect tone for the evening ahead. Mary's meticulous attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the event was thoughtfully planned and flawlessly executed. Zintle's unwavering commitment was truly remarkable. Her friendly disposition and proactive approach to addressing any concerns. It was evident that she genuinely cared about the success of the evening and went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. As the night banqueting manager, Pumi's leadership was instrumental in orchestrating the smooth operation of the event. His professionalism and expertise shone through as she expertly navigated the complexities of managing the event. Her dedication to ensuring that every detail was attended to ensured that the evening unfolded seamlessly, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. Dennis's exceptional service and unwavering dedication throughout the morning were truly appreciated. His proactive approach to problem-solving and calming presence helped to ensure that any issues were swiftly resolved, allowing the event to proceed without a hitch. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to the entire team at Coastlands Umhlanga for their outstanding service and commitment to excellence. On the 5th of april we checked in late afternoon within 15mins we checked out cause the room had a bad foul smell, there were dead and alive ****roachs everywhere even the passage of the hallway. We booked through booking.com and they told us a refund cant be done. Book.com did confirm i must contact directly so they can make some arrange or head way in regards to a refund or something. The hotel manager for now the past 2 weeks has ignored my emails and each time i called he says he needs time to work on my case but for how long cause this will be the 3rd week. The building is so rundown, so many levels high up and glass is broken 1 push and someone can fall over. The noise that night from the floor below was loud and people were scream and shouting on top of loud music playing. Definitely not a scene for a family especially with young kids around. Will never visit that place again we checked out within 15mins and still no refund or agreement to arrange something. Coastlands lost the elegance

Coastland hotel is the worst dirtiest hotel in Durban South beach. From reception. To hazadious lifts that are not mantained and dirty field with dirt.. Going into their passage a smelling old carpet coming from the lifts.. The same lifts that have no lights and get stuck. Their doors are not working in in floor 13th. Their beds are sore you can feel the spring.. Aircons and telephone lines are not working.Their apartments are filled with ****roaches.old towels and don't change bedding. Even the people making beds are not doing a proper job! You need to ask for a glass or a folk or anything you need...their stoves are not working.Suneer the manager is always in hiding the staff is well trained to say his not around even when his around.. This place needs inspectors... Not enough security.. I've lost my sunglasses and when requesting for a footage they cant help me and this was on Sunday 24 March 2024. Level 4 for toilets and the door handle is not working had to shout n a man came n assisted me . imagine if he could have ****d me there??? Its either single ply toilet paper or no toilet paper... Im really disappointed!! Every hour 3 buses full of people are coming in and the reception area gets smaller dangerous as you can be hand picked pocket with out you realizing...only 2security guard in the whole hotel?
