Do not use this company
Do not ever use the company called Convenience Car Hire Johannesburg, they will give you excuses when it comes to giving you the security deposit back!!! The car was in a terrible condition and clearly not serviced. When we wanted to take off there was no petrol in the car we couldn't even leave, the owner had to bring a gallon from his garage and fill petrol just for us to get to a garage, the seats were soaking wet we had to go to the garage and buy plastics to sit on till it dried!!! "how pathetic"and when you want your money back he wants to tell you the car doesn't start and he must get mechanics to check the car. When we dropped the car off we waited outside his house for 20 minutes the owner was drunk and having a very loud conversation. Jonathan Tasker the owner is a ****mer and a **** when he first hired his Kia he said once we drop the car off our security deposit will be paid after 7 days but once the 7 days are complete he comes with a different story and tells you it takes weeks to get a report from the license department. I went to the license department to get information and I was told the plates on the car are not registered on the system. So please do not get caught up with this **** artist!!! He blocked me on whatsapp so I can't ask him for my money anymore his rude and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone he does want to even send me the contract that was signed!!!!

Deposit Return Issues - Reviews getting deleted
So they're still deleting reviews. I didn't get my full deposit back. I got legal assistance and received only a portion of it. I then had to go to small claims court for the rest of it, which I didn't have time for. My review here on HelloPeter was removed because I was never sent a copy of my contract evrn after numerous attempts to get it. I recommend asking for a copy when getting a vehicle from them. They also remove bad reviews from HelloPeter so I will continue posting. It's appalling how some of these companies are really trying to get over people, lacking integrity and being sneaky.

Deposit Return Issues - Reviews getting deleted
So they're still deleting reviews. I didn't get my full deposit back. I got legal assistance and received only a portion of it. I then had to go to small claims court for the rest of it, which I didn't have time for. My review here on HelloPeter was removed because I was never sent a copy of my contract evrn after numerous attempts to get it. I recommend asking for a copy when getting a vehicle from them. They also remove bad reviews from HelloPeter so I will continue posting. It's appalling how some of these companies are really trying to get over people, lacking integrity and being sneaky.

WORST TREATMENT
I was referred to Jonty Tasker by his associate and I rented out a grey Corsa lite 2008 model for 14 days and paid a 4000 deposit along with daily rates for the 14 days. I returned the car on the scheduled date and was told I would get my deposit on 06/01/0222. On 17/01/2022 he said it would be paid later in the afternoon, and again it wasn't.He ignored my texts the next day and only responded on 19/01/2022 claiming it had already been paid in the morning. I requested him to send me Proof of payment on 20/01/2022 and he said he would send it through the next day. 0n 25/01/2022 he returned to say I will be contacted by "finance dept". I then got a whatsapp from a lady called Casidy Ellis Jansen saying she is the head of finance and requested me to confirm my banking details after which she claimed the money was paid into the wrong account and she will follow it up with the bank for a reversal. I asked both her and Jonty why I should be inconvenienced as a result of their "error" and since then they have been ignoring my texts and calls.To date Im still waiting for my deposit refund. This is after I was given the car with an expired license disk and told it would he sorted soon. PLEASE BE WARNED.

I hired a car on the 02 October with the plan to return it on the 03 October and paid a deposit of R6000
I hired a car on the 02 October with the plan to return it on the 03 October and paid a deposit of R6000.00. The owner gave us the car on the 02 October and told us to return it on the 04 October... he said he will only charge us for 1 day because they are closed on Sundays... upon returning the car on the 04th, he gave me a refund of R2000 and told us that the rest of the deposit is refundable within 4 days as he waits for a traffic report so he can deduct fines if any ... it's now been 2 weeks and I am still waiting for the rest of the refund ... I am being told all kinds of stories as to why the deposit refund is delayed.. This is an unscrupulous business and this review is written to warn people who might fall victim of the company ... they pretend to be nice to people whereas they know that they plan on *****ing you out of your HARD EARNED MONEY.. they gave us a car whose disc expired in 2019 and a contract dated 2018 ... DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY
