Cross Country is, in my experience, one of the worst insurance companies in South Africa. I filed a claim for my Mercedes-Benz, and they instructed me to take it to a panel beater. I chose Silver Lakes ARC, an approved Mercedes-Benz panel beater, who provided a quote of nearly R40,000. After waiting for almost three weeks, Cross Country responded, approving only R14,000 and insisting I take my car to Auto Magic, which is not Mercedes-Benz approved. This is less than half the original quote, and they made this decision without having an assessor from Cross Country inspect my vehicle. I also noticed they charged a R6,000 excess fee, even though my policy clearly states there is no excess for me and my spouse. They justified this by saying my spouse is 25 years old. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Cross Country as an underwriter for short-term insurance.

Honestly the ****test Insurance you get, if you are with them read the fine fine print coz what they agree and tell you over the phone and what reality is, is completely different!! don't waste your time with them, just coz they do a little bit extra than the rest when it comes to Overlanding. not worth the trouble that's waiting for you. Never struggle with other insurances like I struggle with them!!!

This is the worst expierance that i have ever had in my life. First my car was insured with Cross Country insurance and when i was in an accident they informed me that they will pay my premiums back but will not cover the damage on the car. After that i had a breaking in my house in september and after emailing Cross Country almost every day there were no feedback at all. it is January now and my claim is stll not sorted out. These are a bunch of ******, they pay assessors to fill I half a report to not pay out the full damage to my property. I would strongly advise people in South Africa NOT to use this insurance company. Staff is very short tempered and rude and they will ***** every cent you have without remorse.

Don't see me telling them; " you know what I'm paying less this month for my insurance because I haven't been driving alot or got into any accidents", no, you do your part and then they come and ***** you over!

Worst experience received. Have been paying this insurance for years and every time I claim they have excuses not to pay. Very disappointing and dishonest company. They will send their employees to assess your claim and will say an independent assessor was sent. They declined to pay for my bike exhaust claim. I dropped my bike broke my exhaust and now they say it’s metal fatigue on a 2022 model bike. Even if it was metal fatigue the bike is comprehensively covered meaning everything is covered.
