They were willing to have me qualify for a one bedroom and asked me to follow-up in October, I did just that, only to be told there are no one bedroom units available! Our income improved, I provided the proof, surely I can afford as advertised R4702 per month for a two bedroom unit, since I am currently paying R4500 for a one bedroom unit through a private company to rent and I have been paying this for 3 years. Now how does one go from telling me I qualify for a one bedroom but no units available, so now my income has improved, surely I can afford the 2 bedroom now they declining my application because of my credit score. Is it because of the color of my skin? As it seems like it is! South Africa already has a housing crisis yet you making it almost impossible, I am starting to feel as though Social Housing itself is a **** and so are these agents running these projects

Good day, I need assistance with my rent deposit. I started staying at the complex in July 2024 and since I started staying here I never received my lease. I requested a copy of my lease at the beginning of the year in 2025 and it still it was never sent to me. Again I requested a copy in August 2025, still no one responded to my emails. At that point I was requesting 2 lease agreements because I had renewed my lease for 2025. I recently got an offer in Johannesburg on the 1st September which requires me to relocate. I sent another lady a text on whatsapp enquiring which steps should I take if I want to serve a notice to terminate my lease. I did that enquiry because I did not have my leases and I have been requesting them with no responses. I served my notice and only then the 2025 lease was sent and was told by Ruth that the notice period is 2 months. I then told her that but I have been requesting my lease so you can’t tell me now that the notice period is 2 months. I attached previous emails where I was requesting my leases she did not provide any explanations as to why my leases were not sent to me, she just stood her ground telling me that I will be liable for October and November’s rent. This is such a **** and I want my deposit because if my leases were sent to me when I requested them, I wouldn’t be in this position. Can anyone assist me please. Thanks.

I app**** in April and I was advised that I will get feedback on the 1st Of June, but nothing was communicated with me until I called the individual that I sent my applications too which was Natasha Sydow in Goodwood.Unfortunately I was advised that I need to wait because of the high volume of applications.Till today I never received any feedback.I sent an email to her this afternoon and she responded advising that the units are full and she wishes me Goodluck on finding my new home I mean what kind service is this? Why did I only get the feedback now when I only sent an email asking what is the issue as I’ve been waiting, and I’m desperately looking for a place to stay.I’m so disappointed and disturbed,I thought this was helping out those who cannot afford high rentals hence it’s called community housing Services but I guess I was wrong. Now when I called in I am advised that in order for me to get a unit I need to get someone that can help me boost my salary bracket so that I can be able to get a 2bedroom unit because I do not qualify. And due to the salary bracket As well I don’t qualify for a less rental.I seriously need intervention

I would NOT recommend living or even applying at DCI Goodwood station project. Right after you sign your lease agreement they literally forget you exist! I haven't even been living there for 5 months and I regret moving here in the first place. There's no parking, no braai facilities, barely washing lines and the extra fees and charges makes me wonder if this is actually 'social housing'. I have had so much concerns and complaints, and not one of the DCI staff members has the decency to even attend/respond to you. Wouldn't recommend this place at all!!
