This has got to be the worst customer service ever rendered. I approached Martie Eksteen on the 26 February for 3 shower door seals. She quoted me R240 and said they would be ready in 2 days for pick up. She took my number and stated she would call me. 2 weeks later and no response so I called her to enquire. She said she would get back to me in 30 min. She never did so I called her the next day. Her response was that the rep will be coming in the next day and she would get back. No apology for not calling back. I only called her a week later because she simply did not get back to me. I was quite upset and stated that the service was pathetic and asked her who manages the place and if I could speak to that person as I really wanted to lay a complaint. To my horror she told me she owns the place. Long story short she never got back to me. After a month I called her and told her exactly how I felt and would be coming to pick up my old bathroom seals. She promised to have the new ones the next day. I got there after 34 days and fetch my old seals together with the new ones at a cost of now R340, I simply paid and did not even utter a word to her and left her premises. I have no idea how her business remains open if this is how she operates. Martie you are definitely not a woman of your word. You make promises to customers to get them of your back and I hope someday you learn a real lesson that will teach you to treat customers with honesty and integrity.

Ordered stack - and sliding doors in December 2017. After many promises of the doors coming, it only arrived late January - they got measurements wrong (frame didn't fit the opening) and had to start over. Very bad service and quality of work. They make appointments and then they never pitch and they don't communicate if there is problems - you have to phone to ask why they never came. Still struggling to get them to fix all the problems - doors and windows not closing properly, blotches of spray paint where they tried to cover up the scratches. Panels not having the same colour, rubber used to keep glass in place have gaps and are broken, glass broken so many times and many visible scratch marks still on the doors.

I am reposting this as she managed to use sneaky a Hello Peter loophole to have my and the other 3 or 4(or more) other post/reviews against her removed. Just shows you how mischievous she is and I can’t believe that she is still getting away with it.

I have names and contact details of at least 10 other people who was also scammed by her should someone be looking for more proof and evidence

Below my post from November 2016 ……

I met Martie Eksteen when I walked into her shop, De Ville Glass, while I was on the hunt for a better service provider that could install aluminium windows and frameless shower doors for my renovations company. We struck up a conversation and it appears I immediately fell for her “I'm a widow” story and decided that I would place my next order with her to try and help her out.

A couple of weeks later I called her for a quote, she was extremely helpful to arrange a suitable time for a site inspection and she arrived on time to do the measurement on 5 August 2016….. That was the last good service I received from her.

I paid her a 100% deposit as she explained to me at our previous meeting that she has been done into many times by clients and doesn’t take on projects if she doesn’t receive a 100% deposit which was understandable as I myself had issues with clients that struggle to pay once the project has been completed.

She promised me a lead time of around 10 working days for the installation. Needless to say, this wasn’t adhered to. About 20 days later, we still had no shower door and I became anxious, as we had to complete the project and hand over to the client. Hereafter followed a cat and mouse game to get hold of her and get answers out of her. Several delivery dates were promised and never kept.

They eventually did the installation about a month late without any supervision or competent staff. I am sure a 10-year-old could have done a better job. The glass panels were completely the wrong size, fixing brackets installed in the wrong places, seals, and gaskets missing, just to mention a few of the problems.

The next day I expressed my clients and my own extreme disappointment with the work that they have done and the poor service we received to date. It was a struggle to get her back to site for an inspection to point out the obvious mistakes and blatant negligence and poor workmanship.

Once she was there I offered her an ultimatum to have it rectified within a reasonable time frame or refund me which she agreed to in writing.

Long story short, almost 4 months after paying my100% deposit, lots of false promises, several unanswered calls, Whatsapp and emails we still don’t have a completed project and still waiting on her new installation date. Needless to say, I also didn’t get my refund, just a promise that they would come and fix it.

We are still waiting for them to come and complete the installation. Her last words were “ I'll call you as soon as I received the glass from my supplier and then we can arrange an installation date”. From what I hear she talks to all her clients like they are the ones at fault, once they are on to her, that is if they can get hold of her.

I did some investigation and it appears that I am not the only one who she did in. I got hold of at least 5 other people with similar stories, some of them that “apparently” lost almost R50 000 on similar incidences and am thankful that my loss is only R 6 300.00, as I was about to give her more projects.

Please make contact with myself, Stephan on ********** or Annina on ********** if you had a similar experience as we plan to take collective action if there is enough interest.

Regards

Mr Gullible

On the 14th of July I confirmed an order placed with De Ville Glass and Aluminium by paying a deposit. I was told that the glass I ordered should be ready within 10 days. When I did not get ant response after two weeks, I followed up on the 1st of August. Excuses were made. On the 10th when I followed up again, the long weekend that hampered the supplier was given as an excuse. On the 15th no progress and as I was out of town, I only followed up on the 22nd as per agreement the installation would be during that week. There was no progress and I insisted my deposit to be refunded. That did not happen either. On the 29th I was told workers did not turn up and nothing could be fetched from the supplier. No refund forthcoming and another followup on the 29th. On the 30th of August I was promised and installation on the 10th of Sepetember. On the 9th of September I went to see whether the glass was in their possesion for installation on the 10th. It was not and I was told the delivery van was in an accident. It was also admitted that the order was never placed in July as promised. I again demended payback of the deposit. As I could see that there was no money to repay the deposit, I hesitantly agreed to a new installation date on the 29th of September. I contacted the supplier direct to ensure that the order was placed and it was confirmed to me that it was ready on the 27th. On the 28th there was another excuse an , as I was not available on the 29th, I agreed to installation on the 30th. Half an hour before the time agreed to, I was phoned and told that the order was placed incorrectly and the glass doors could not be installed. This terrible service does not take into account the frustration, countless follow ups, and empathy with the other clients was orders was piling up.

With referral to my very unfortunate dispute with Mrs Martie Eksteen of De Ville Glass and Aluminium in Durbanville, and my Hello Peter review on the 19th of May of the extremely poor service and public relations we received from her, I have to revert to Hello Peter once again because of her failure to settle her debt to me as was suggested by herself.
After 4 and a half months, and while I was busy with procedures with the Court for Small claims and she did not respond to a letter of my attorney, I unexpectedly received an email from Mrs Martie Eksteen on the 26th of August @ 11:47. She asked for our bank details and if we were willing to settle on an amount. She wanted to start new with a clean slate.
I replied back that we will accept the one glass in dispute as is, despite the fact that it was not according to our specific instructions and written order aimed specifically for safety reasons for our grandchildren (sharp corners on a desk glass, in stead of rounded corners as we specified)
I emailed back that we will accept the full amount of the oven splash back though - to resolve this matter with her, as we had to order it again from another company at more than she quoted us for. Mrs Eksteen failed to deliver and also never refunded us as she promised numerous times for this product that she was unable to deliver after 3 months since we ordered and had to pay her THE FULL AMOUNT in advance for our order. (because the order was custom sized toughened glass)
Mrs Eksteen thanked me for my feed back and undertook to immediately transfer R1500 into my account, with the balance of R1600 not later than Friday the 2nd of September.
With this commitment from her, she asked me to remove my review on her business here, as well as on the Google review option.
She stated that I was welcome to put it back should she fail to perform no later that Friday the 2nd of September.
“(Hi Anina

Dankie vir die terugvoer.

Ek gaan solank die helfte betaal vandag R1500 en volgende Vrydag die balans.

Ek stuur vir jou bewys van betaling.

Kan jy asb die reviews verwyder vandag. Contact and withdraw my case with her from the Court of small claims - which I did
2. remove reviews from Hello Peter and Google as soon as we got back after a few days away – which I did.
However, I was unable to delete my Hello Peter review and followed it up with a very positive review of her commitment to resolve this matter and how glad I was that we could now finally settle this very unfortunate incident.
I even googled to see if there were FAQ on how to delete this review and emailed it to her so that she could see that I was really trying to accommodate her obvious remorse and her wanting to make amends.
She emailed me again to say that she mailed Hello Peter to contact me to get my permission to delete this negative review.
On Thursday the 1st of September @ 8:18, Monique Smith emailed me to say say that my review on De Ville Glass & Aluminium was deemed 'inappropriate' by the business concerned.
I replied that this review was NOT inappropriate at the time, how ever, now Mrs Eksteen has offered to compensate us for our money of the splash back which was never delivered to us after 3 months of most unpleasant encounters with her.
I trusted Mrs Eksteen enough to give Monique permission to take it down – and stated in my email to her that:
“She has now paid half of the monies and will pay the outstanding amount to us by tomorrow.
Should she fail to do that, I will contact you again.
You can take the review off - not because it was inappropriate, but because she has now, after 4 and a half months, decided to honour her debt to us.
Kind regards”

It is now Saturday afternoon, the review has been deleted, and after numerous mails from Mrs Eksteen to please withdraw my 2 reviews which I did … no deposit was made as promised at the latest yesterday.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted – not because it is a huge amount, but because I once again was taken for a ride by Mrs Eksteen.
