After having bought the chocolate croissants and croissants a number of times before, I bought a pack of each in Somerset West. However this time they did not rise under the wet cloth after 7 hours and when I baked them they still came out tiny and stodgy and unedible. I emailed Deeghuys head office with no response. I then went to the Deeghuys branch where I bought them, being Somerset West, giving them the leftover frozen ones, plus a baked one. The one lady was friendly and checked the batch numbers and said they were from the same batch so perhaps an ingredient had been left out. The other woman interrupted and told me they do not accept returns as they are foodstuffs. At that time I had not even discussed a refund with them, I was telling them what the problem was. So we can buy the biggest rubbish from them and they won't give a refund. I said I just want it looked into as I like the product but will not buy it again until it is sorted out. They took my details and promised to get back to me. I expected a refund after they had looked into it but the very least I expected was a courtesy call after having spent money on items that are absolutely useless, plus my time and money and effort to report it to them. Its been a number of weeks. Its not like I bought it buy mistake and tried to return it - the product was useless and they could see this and they have continued to sell it without even getting back to me. I am really annoyed that after losing money due to their faulty product, they could not even phone or email me to explain what happened.

I mostly love Deeghuys. There are some foods that are just not very good, but then there are others like their desserts which I enjoy. I am just going to make one suggestion to you, Deeghuys, and that is the make your cookie dough cheaper and also to make more cookie dough types because I cannot spend R80 on each packet every time I want to make a batch for a party which is surprisingly often now that I think about it. Once a month at least. One more thing, I think that you should sell softer cookies, too. EVERYONE sells crunchy and hard cookies in this country. You should set yourselves apart. I will just say that I was disappointed with the pies. I expected them to be better, at least better than the roadside pies you can find at petrol stations, but they were just meh. The staff are always sweet, though.

Deeghuys brackenfell staff experience after loyal service . On Thursday staff was informed of short time and Friday the doors closed . Staff left without proper notice and unpaid money owing. 2 days ago owner of brackenfell shop fb looking for investor in Franshoek but her staff which she promise to payout there leave money was informed the business was bankcrupt. Yet she told her staff she got money to move her shop from where they was located to another premises. This is the second time Deeghys owners shock staff. Staff left workerless and unpaid. How does she sleep. And she plans to open another shop by the looks of it. Please be aware of x Deeghuys owner wanting investors and looks like she wanting to open again in Franshoek

At the Ballito location, the older woman at the front is so sweet. I have not gotten her name, but props to her for being so welcoming. The food is delicious by the way. It can get kind of expensive, but has been worth it! There are some cheaper options, too, but I especially love their doughs and desserts.

For years I have become used to buying and getting quality frozen, bake yourself rolls from Deeghuys. Recently I ran into a snag and could not help but wonder if this will become a bump in the trust and reliance I have devolped over their products. The receipt for my purchase was no longer available, and I wasn't sure if or how they would handle my predicament. Things worked out more than just OK, and I'd like to commend the two cashier ladies at Deeghuys Somerset Mall who assisted me on 8/2/2021 when I returned a 2 weeks old pack of frozen Potuguese rolls that would not bake as they usually do. My ¾-pack of rolls was swopped right there and then with a friendly "I hope these will be fine as they have a different batch number sir". Thank you ladies, I tested the new rolls and they are indeed fine. Not even five minutes of your time, and you have an impressed and happy customer.

Clearly the owner of the branch of Deeghuys Featherbrooke cares much more about their customers that the company itself. Found a bone, thick vein like an atery and another vein inside a piece of fat in one of their pies. I is quite disgusting. The Owner Trudi Roos appologise and gave me a refund and said the company would call me the next week. One can just assume that the company does not care what low quality meat the use for their products and does not care if the customers are happy or not. Please be aware, one can find much better quality else where. Took a picture as proof. Still have a close packet of pies at home but don't know if I have the stomach to eat it.
