I used this company to try fix my geyser. The element was blown only. They insisted on replacing the element PLUS the thermostat which was working perfectly. They wanted to replace both parts because they said the thermostat is old and they need to give a warranty. My reply was , you only give a warranty for the parts you replace and there is no need to replace the thermostat. he quoted me R 750 for parts only - replace Thermostat and geyser , and the call out and labour is extra charge. I asked them to just do the ELEMENT replacement and the onsite plumber quoted me R 500.00 for the element. I accepted, they drained the geyser and than left site to get the element and return. I am A electrical engineer so I know about geyser elements and thermostats and tested them myself in front of them proving that the element only was faulty. Whilst they were offsite, their owner of Designer Plus called me and he insisted that he replace geyser element and thermostat or else they will not do the job. I objected and he was extremely rude to me, but being a Sunday Afternoon I was basically at this guys mercy. So I agreed for him to replace both element and thermostat at the quoted price of R 750.00. The owner than siad the charge is no longer R 750.00 , but now R 1500.00 , PARTS ONLY ,plus a Sunday call out plus Labour at Sunday rate. THis geyser element was going to cost around R 3500.00 for a job that would take 30 minutes, and parts that anyone can buy for Around R 350.00. , YET HE CHARGES R 1500.00. I refused his quotation ,and yesterday a reputable plumber came and replace the Geyser element only at a fraction of his quoted cost. the owner of this company is RUDE, and takes advantage of people who are in a predicament ,and replaces parts that are in perfect working order ,and charges excessive costs. I have reported this to my insurance company of my experience. USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN PERIL

I contacted Momentum Insure on Sunday 06 July regarding a burst water pipe on my roof. Designer Plus were dispatched to attend to the problem. They quoted me 3 times the price of the material, which I obtained from a quick Google search. I queried the cost and one of the workman called his manager Steven who behaved in a highly unprofessional manner telling me to check my facts and 'take it or leave it!' On the advice on one of the workmen, I bought the materials and called Momentum for them to arrange for him to return and carry out the repair. I was told that would incur a call out fee as my insurance only covers one and a return trip would be considered a second call out. Despite requests from Momentum Insure staff for him to call me he failed to do so, having misinformed them about what the content of our discussion. Steven should not be dealing with clients if he believes they are not entitled to querying quotes. Momentum Insure should also be more selective in who they appoint as their 'value added' service providers.

Very unprofessional & rude behaviour by Charmaine from Designer plus, I logged a call with Discovery & they sent Designer plus to me, firstly they sent an *********** person to me and then I requested another electrician who arrived & completed the job after 4 hours, Charmaine quoted me R350 per hour extra after the first hour covered by Discovery, she the calls me at 8pm in the evening, calling me a ***** saying I ****** her, ***!!!!, she says she didn't think the job would take so long & she wants more money, imagine this! What type of company quotes you then demanding more, please stay away from Designer Plus, Discovery has also escalated this to management, I only hope ************ companies like this are brought to book!

Designer Plus repaired a DB board issue at my premises but neglected to check the installation after doing so and caused major damage to appliances in my house when they connected a neutral wire to the live feed. On contacting them to repair the error and subsequently to pay for damages I've been told it's not their problem and i must contact my insurance company. They refuse to communicate with me to resolve this issue.

Designer Plus repaired a DB board issue at my premises but neglected to check the installation after doing so and caused major damage to appliances in my house when they connected a neutral wire to the live feed. On contacting them to repair the error and subsequently to pay for damages I've been told it's not their problem and i must contact my insurance company. They refuse to communicate with me to resolve this issue.

Design plus did a very bad job with installing cupboards and a 2 kitchens in our house at Pinnacle Point, what a waste of over R1 000 000. This company was very slow to finish their work, with a lot of installation and quality issues. It took 7 months to respond to a request to redo work, due to faulty design and faulty appliances. It is still not fixed.
