I am writing to formally express my disappointment and concern regarding the Eddie Zondi tribute event held on 15 June 2025 at Disoufeng pub and restaurant. Despite purchasing tickets in advance, my experience was far from what was expected. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the venue was overcrowded. There were no seats available, even for those who had paid for entry. This created a hazardous environment, and itβs deeply troubling to consider what could have happened had someone fallen in the congested space. Whatβs more alarming is that tickets were still being sold at the gate despite the venue already being full. This reflects a serious lapse in crowd control and prioritises profit over safety. Such an event needed to have medical assistance on site, but that was not the case. I have been to Disoufeng several times without a sold event, and it was always a wonderful experience. I have always found it to be well-organised. However, this time, when tickets were sold, it was a stark contrast to what was supposed to be more organised. Staff were overwhelmed and unable to manage orders, and it was evident they were under immense pressure. It felt as though they were being exploited, with no adequate support or increase in staffing to meet the demands of the crowd. Queues for food, drinks, and restrooms were excessively long, adding to the frustration. After spending R150 on a ticket, one expects a certain level of service and comfort. Sadly, this event failed to deliver on both fronts. I urge you to take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure future events are safe, well-managed, and respectful to both attendees and staff. Honouring Eddie Zondi should be a celebration, not a chaotic and disappointing experience.

Not happy with their service regarding the kids birthday package, we do everything on our own , had to clean floor and chairs, why do you have party packages but can't take care of people. Really not happy

Yesterday 25 Feb 23 was a terrible experience. The waiters have favourites and don't cater to everyone needs. Regardless if you you are at Vip or VVip π. And then when one goes to the bar there's a long line that took almost 2hours to get served. That also has favourites with security and waiters even when people are standing in that long line. How does such an "award winning" establishment only have one bar and not enough waiters/waitresses. The bar was so such a terrible experience I vowed to never go there again. With the renovations happening hopefully another bar or plans to have other options to serve the patrons are looked it. It's not expected to have such bad experiences in such places. Maybe some of us need to know the people that work at Disoufeng so that the experience can be great. So unfortunate!

Firstly the sound system was a disappointment, along with the waitress and waiters have a terrible attitude. To be specific Phumzile and Phakamani however Disoufeng is a good place to be plus the food the was great.
