What a horrific experience I re-had at dudoc hospital as a patient who was there for an elective procedure. Let me first re visit the very first one which I let it slide without thinking this might come and bite me again .. I was there due severe abdominal pain little had I known that I had a ruptured ovarian cyst which to me was horrific pains the nursing staff in maternity treated me with kindness upon admission but all that changed as I kept on requesting for pain medication due to the ineffectiveness of the type of medication they were giving I complained not even one nurse took upon her self to escalate the issue and call the doctor to mention that this patient is still in excruciating discomfort pain yet we have given this and that. I was devastated and even in tears at some point due to that type of pains I was having and what hurt the most was the fact that I was hospitalised and mind you in a private hospital. Second incident, the same issue worsened to a point where the doctor advised that I need to be admitted for elective procedure pertaining the same issue . The treatment post operation was really back to be precise in pain management. I was then taken a back given the same attitude when I requested for pain medicine to a point where by a particular nurse had to sort of disciple me for actually verbalising that I had pains . I’m so disappointed and fed up with Durdoc I won’t ever in my life regard it a safe place for me and other patients I feel sad for the patients who had undergone big procedures and who requires pain medication frequently and who get scolded by doing that by nurses . Such a bad culture for nurse and they’re definitely endangering our lives which then opposes with nurses acts and regulations. The staff having to gang up on me and question me about my complaints was still inappropriate and very unprofessional especially for the team leader. I’m beyond disappointed and heartbroken

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at this “private hospital “. For a day case I sure had a rather traumatic experience, from the hospital not informing me prior to the day of admission about the copayment to being at theatre for over an hour unattended, then going back to the ward having a man waiting for me with documentation to be signed on the payment plan for the balance outstanding, mind you I was still very drowsy from the medication, I don’t even remember what terms I agreed on for the payment. I had to wait for over 3 hours after theatre to get a sandwich, I was absolutely starving as I was not to eat anything before theatre. Not even a glass of water was offered to me, I eventually got discharged after 15:00. The worst was on my way to the car I asked the security guard which way do I go to exit, cause I could see there was an entrance and an exit. He tells me the same way I used in is the same way out, just like a baby comes out the same way it went in, while pointing at my private part with his eyes. I felt very disgusting and violated. I honestly wish to never set foot at that hospital.

As an agency worker It is very heart-warming to know great colleagues do exist. Sr Pillay SICU is so caring and pedantic about her unit. Sr Mthethwa is a very beautiful soul and her staff love her immensely. Thank you guys for making me feel part of the team

My Mom is admitted at Durdoc hospital a doctor did a procedure on her two weeks back my mom was discharged after two day but beca of serious pains she was admitted again. Since she went back to Durdoc she’s been seriously sick and nurses said the doctor said she must go back home because Dr K is only coming back on the 7th of October my Mom has be vomiting since she can’t keep anything in , she complaining about pain and always crying complaining about pain and that doctor is nowhere to be found to check on her patient. The whole family is worried about the treatment my mom is getting and yet the hospital is claiming on here medical aid everyday. Every family member that went and visited my mom is complaining that my mom has not been given proper care. We that even medical aid Gems should intervene when issues like this arise. Can the hospital manage please help Mr Thulasizwe Mngadi

Most pathetic hospital ever, I'm even wondering why it is referred to as a private hospital when things done there are exactly as public hospitals. Maternity ward is the most ridiculous place to be, they told me baby couldn't get simple oral drops because they out of stock what a waste of an excuse, logically how can a private hospital be out of stock on oral drops wgy is there even a maternity ward if you do not order the most essential things required after birth of baby, now i must run up and downs looking for oral drops for the baby in a rainy weather with a fresh C-section wound, this is utter ******* and i will never ever recommend this hospital to anyone even my worst enemy. It is a waste and must be shut down nurses are careless it is as if someone forced them to come to work, they just don't give a damn about their patients. They don't even deserve this one star in fact they deserve a - 100 rating

I was disappointed at Dudoc pharmacy by one of the workers called (Xolile Hlongwa) who was serving us when we were looking for medication, didn’t greet us, she was Very arrogant when I asked how much is chela Preg vitamins, apart from that even ask about another medication which costed R645 she only talked to me when I was supposed to make a payment and she said pay , not even asking whether I will use card or cash. Had to ask one of the Indian ladies how to use the medication, she then explained everything with a smile and how to use it , that when I became happy ♥️ But they need to teach her how to treat customers

In the beginning of the year (not sure when exactly) I saw an adverti*****t for the job on indeed and I applied for that post (social worker position). Few weeks later I received an email regretting that my application was rejected. Fine by me... I even forgot that I applied at Durdoc. On Thursday (29-11-18) I received a phone call from the lady saying she's Ms Mhlongo if I'm not mistaken calling from Durdoc hospital offering me a job that I applied for because the person who was interviewed for the job didn't pitch in for the tests that they supposed to do so they saw me as the qualified candidate. I told her that I was on the way so I can't speak properly. If she could call me later so that she can explain further as I did not understand. She said I should call the HR officer Ms Lindiwe Ntseka so that she can explain to me everything and gave me the number. Fine. I did phone the number I was given to and there was no response and made a note that I will call in the morning. I did on Friday morning and the lady Ms Ntseka answered and asked why I didn't call yesterday I told her what happened and then she said she was in a meeting around that time I called and didn't see the missed call. Fine, she started to explain what happened to the candidate that was interviewed and then interview me and I answered. She than told me that I got the job. So after that she asked me when can I come to sign the contract. I told her I can't just up and go as I was at work. She told me that to make sure I take the job I have to come and sign the papers and that she understands I have to serve the notice at my current work. Ok we agreed that I will find a day to come over. So she then said to me "let's talk ke Myolwa ntombi, as you know that you did not do the interviews but we chose you anyway you have to pay R14 000. 00. R7 000.is for the unit manager so that when he signs the contract he would say you were at the interviews and the other R7 000.is for the HR management and I started to be shocked now. How come? According to my understanding a person can be interviewed through the phone and I thought that was what we were doing all along. I asked the lady isn't that a fraud because you asked me what kind of a person I was and I told you and now you tell me this wouldn't that be a contradiction of what I just told you about me? And she said "phela ntombi siyakhulumisana njenga bantu" her words. And I was so confused. I asked her that I told you how much I'm getting paid where I'm working it's not even close to what you are asking so where do you think I would get the money so she said the unit manager will not sign the contract for me if I did not pay the money especially for him then I can pay later for the HR management or even after my first salary. So when I have the money for the unit manager I should call them. I'm really confused if is this how people get jobs it is so embarrassing and disgusting because people out there are desperate looking for jobs but how can they get the jobs when they don't have even the 50 to buy something to eat at home. Where is our country going to? When will this corruption end, when will we get the jobs without doing fraud in our country?, why do we have to suffer like this for the higher positions? May the good Lord be with our country and help us not be that much desperate to even fall for these things that are happening in our country. May we stand firm for the truth and end this corruption and help those who are in need of the jobs to get it in a good and deserving manner. I am so disappointed by what happened to me.
