I hv had bought 2 pairs on sale at R4300 on 6 August 25. Before i wore the heels i took them for sole attachments as a protective measure as the original sole is very thin. Nothing else done on the tip/heel itself. I wore the heel the 3rd time on monday and it broke in half. Then i went to the store in Menlyn where i bought them and the lady manager (white female) gave me an attitide from the onset. But i was eventually told to email customer care, and i dd only to request reoairs not refund or replacement. Today i recieve a response that nothing can be done coz the shoe is modified. Mind you the shoe is brocken on the heel and not the sole where a patch was placed. Im disgruntled. Coz what do u mean the store cant assist on a R3k shoe while i am a loyal customer and with such high quality expensive shoes. U lost me as a customer shame. Poor service and gross customer service from your store manager

I purchased a handbag from the Karl store in gateway dec 2024 i went in to the a week ago to show them the poor quality of the bag the manager did agree that its not wear and tear as she can see the bag is hardly used but its passed the 6 months warranty so they cant help me. This is extremely pathic service especially for a high end store and for a R5000 bag to be peeling within a year.

I am so disgusted with Europa Art 😡 What was once one of my favourite stores is now a place i’ll never set foot in again. Their client liaison is so rude and unhelpful. I bought this shoe earlier this year and have worn it about 3 times, and it broke. I sent it back in the box as they requested but didn’t have the slip because after about 4 months i get rid of receipts for goods that are not high-end. They have the ability to scan their system for the period I requested them to check but the liaison’s response was, “I can’t check because it would be too many stores to look up.” I am SO disappointed that they’re not willing to go the extra mile to assist with THEIR defective product that they clearly know was bought at a specific store (because they know me very well at the store), and considering that i sent the shoe back in the box that has the style number. I honestly would have appreciated the assistance but it’s obvious that they don’t want to hold themselves accountable for their badly designed shoe. Lesson learned!

On 3 July 2025, I emailed Europa Art about shoes I bought years ago. One pair I had returned immediately because of bad leather quality. The second pair was just as poor (weak glue, low-grade leather for so-called “luxury” shoes). When I first tried to return them, their online system glitched. A staff member told me to take them to Canal Walk. Since I wasn’t in Cape Town, I sent my sister with proof of purchase, but they refused the return because it was “over 30 days.” On 7 July 2025, I followed up again, pointing out that I was the one always chasing updates because Europa Art never responds when they say they will. On 8 July 2025, I reminded them that this same issue had happened years ago: staff promised escalation, I emailed, nothing happened, and my orders were simply marked “cancelled” on my Europa Art profile, with no refund and no collection. After years of this back and forth, I finally went to the store myself in July. I left the shoes at the store so there would be no excuse. I asked for the staff member who originally “assisted” my sister, but she claimed not to remember. I asked to speak to the branch manager and they were not available. Even worse, when I later called to follow up and remind them that I was still waiting for their promised call, the branch manager phoned, and proved to be the rudest, dismissive person I’ve ever dealt with in retail. This is not just about shoes anymore. Europa Art sells overpriced, poor-quality products and then insults customers who demand accountability. High prices and cheap quality are already a bad combination. But pairing that with arrogance, lies about “cancellations,” no refunds, and the rudest customer service in the industry is beyond unacceptable. The shoe is now sitting at the store, and still there is no resolution, only rudeness and incompetence. Europa Art needs to be exposed for what it is: bad quality and managers who treat customers with absolute disrespect.

Bought the shoes on the 20.05.2024, I wore the shoes on the 24.05.2025 and i realized that the shoes were uncomfortable and whilst walking, the back part of it was coming off. i didn't even wear the shoes for more than 30min that's how uncomfortable they were. Mind you, its the first time I'm returning something over 9 years buying at the store. I returned the shoes on the 05.06.2025 in a box and attached receipt. Had paid R1745 for the shoe. below is the response from: Lana Jankolovski Thank you for reaching out and for your continued support over the past nine years. We truly value your loyalty and appreciate the trust you’ve placed in Europa Art.We understand that the shoes you purchased on the 20 May did not meet your expectations in terms of comfort and fit. After reviewing your feedback and confirming the details with our store team, it was confirmed that the shoes have been worn. As such, and in line with our Company policy, we are unable to offer an exchange or refund on shoes that have been worn. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I’ve received from Europa Art Century City. I purchased a pair of navy work shoes on 15 February 2025 for R3,192—only to discover after one wear that the gold buckle detail was coming loose and the glue work was clearly defective. I returned the shoes on 21 February 2025 with proof of purchase and photos clearly showing the poor workmanship. Instead of offering a refund (as per the Consumer Protection Act), they proceeded to "repair" the shoes without my consent, then claimed it was not a defect but “part of the design.” After nearly month of silence, I followed up myself, only to be shown a substandard “repair” that didn't fix the problem. Despite the shoes being worn only once, the store refuses to refund me and claims the defect is "normal". I requested: A refund (which I am legally entitled to) A repair report The name and qualifications of the person who inspected the shoes Their own terms even mention that defective items can be returned with proof—yet they refuse to take accountability. This is not what I expect from a premium brand. If you're considering shopping at Europa Art, be warned: they do not stand by the quality of their products, and should something go wrong, you may be stuck with faulty goods and no proper customer support. This is unacceptable for a brand of their supposed calibre. I have now escalated this matter to the Consumer Ombudsman. #EuropaArt #PoorQuality #CustomerRights #ConsumerProtection #HelloPeterComplaint
