I bought a brand new FAW truck in November 2025, I started working with the truck on the 7th of November 2025, this truck has got a 3 year warranty. For the first year the warranty is bumper to bumper on this truck In December 2025 that's when I started experiencing problems with the truck, the first problem, the truck had a worn out tire which forced me to buy a new tire, of which the date was the 18th of December 2025, before I purchased the new tire I first reported the problem to the salesman that helped me when I bought the truck back in November 2025 of which he proved to not be helpful. On the 29th of December 2025 the truck was due for its first service at FAW (TST) in Port Elizabeth, when taking the truck to its service I noticed that there was a tire that looked worn out of which that was shock to me as this was a recently purchased brand new truck, I once again reported to the same salesman who was not to able to be of assistance the last time I came with a problem about the truck and he once again told me that there is nothing he can do to help. When i got to the dealership (FAW TST) I reported this matter to the service advisor and the gentleman helping promised to have a look at the problem, on collection of the truck the service advisor who promised to help told me as follows: 1. They had a look at the wheel alignment of the truck and he said there's nothing wrong 2. He told me that most of the FAW trucks normally have a problem with the tires that come directly from its factory 3. He told me that the 5th wheel is also worn out. I then decided to speak to FAW after sales department, I called them and told them about all the problems I have been experiencing with the truck, they further on asked me to write them an email specifying the problems I've been experiencing with the truck of which I did, and their response was that based on their findings the tires and 5th wheel concerns were confirmed as "maintenance related failures" and do not qualify for warranty. Now my question to them is "why are we at the point of talking about maintenance issues on a brand new truck which is only 2 months old" and "how have they come to the conclusion/findings that the problem is maintenance issues when they themselves have not taken the truck and have a proper inspection of it". I am really not happy with their so-called findings and I need assistance because I cannot buy a brand new truck in November 2025 and find myself having to spend money on the brand new truck in December 2025 in regards to maintenance issues, the other thing now as we speak the truck has a leaking air pipe in the front of the truck of which again this a brand new truck. I really do need assistance in dealing with this matter.

I purchased a brand new 5ton FAW from the Pinetown dealership on the 9th of July 2022. On the 19th of October 2022 I notified the dealership that the fog lights had discoloured and cracked and needed to be replaced. The lights were ordered and arrived on then 1st of December as they never had stock. The lights were changed under warranty. I was told this was a common issue. On the 15th of August 2023 I contacted the dealership and reported the same issue again where the lights and discoloured and cracked. I was told the truck was out of warranty and I needed to pay for them to be replaced. The dealership suggested that I replace the bumper and foglights to the newer spec bumper as they had a number of issues with the older shape foglights but I need to pay for it to be done. I eventually paid for a new set of foglights out of my own pocket. On the 18th of June 2025 while my staff were traveling to Richards Bay they had to pull over on the side of the N2 as the truck was making a weird sound. It was established that the steel mounting brackets for the gear box had both snapped. I called the dealership and was told they had stock. I drove through from Ballito to find out they only had one in stock and had to order the other one. I then called a steel fabricator out to weld the brackets on the side of the N2 so we could get back home. I was charged R388.30 for the bracket I collected and then charged R776.30 for the other bracket which is identical. When I questioned the difference in price I was told the factory have the right to change pricing. On the 22nd of October 2025 my driver went through and purchased a water trap filter and paid with the company credit card. When I saw the invoice and what we were charged I drove through to Pinetown from Ballito and returned the item on the same day. I was charged R4724.83 for a water trap filter and managed to get the exact same filter made by the same manufacturer locally for R565.00. I was told I needed to fill in a document and supply a copy of my bank confirmation letter and that the refund would take up to 21 working days to be paid back. It's now 29 working days and I still don't have my refund. When I called the dealership and asked what the delay was they said "only the Chinese make payments and they are returning from a new launch". I have never experienced such poor customer service in all my life. You would think that people would go out of their way to ensure their clients receive the best possible service. Unfortunately as South Africans, we've become accustomed to **** poor customer service and that seems to be the norm. If you're in the market for a truck I'd strongly suggest looking at one of the more reputable brands.

Faw Pinetown never have spares and there is absolutley no after sale service. I purchased a 3.5 ton Faw truck which is total *******. It is built up of inferior parts. They absolutley do not care if your truck sits in their work shop for a week waiting for parts and when your truck goes in for a service they donot check the brakes. I have complaine d from day one and now i am told it is out of warranty . Right from the top person of Faw down to the service department nobody cares. I have had to spend Over R100000.00 on repairs on my truck which is only 2 1/2 years old. the bin is also coming apart and i am told that we have stretched it and we only carry garden refuse. Faw does not deserve a rating. Dont be fooled by buying one of their products.

We bought a brand new truck 16 months ago and spent a lot of money on this truck and rely on this truck to make an income. After 8 months the gearbox broke and FAW told us they couldn't even order the part and my truck sat for 6 months whilst i have been paying the installments and insurance and not making a cent off this truck. then 2 months ago we were told they found the correct part after we walked into the branch and confronted BRETT the Principal manager of the branch. he then told me he could have ordered a brand new gearbox and it would take 2 months and now 2 months later still no gearbox was ordered. Today they tell us they still cant tell us when they can find the correct part and when the truck will be fixed. Brett has been very unprofessional and there has been terrible customer service from this branch. I feel FAW either need to replace this truck with a brand new truck at there cost or pay all our money back that we have spent as we have lost a lot of money on installments. This is not the first FAW we have bought from this branch and also have had headaches regarding those trucks to. I feel every one should know not to buy a FAW from this branch or a FAW in general as they have terrible after sale service.
