The ladies in accounts and reception are so rude! No people skills at all and totally unprofessional. They also do not inform people of things that change at the practice that the patients should know of, such as being billed for a telephone call to the doctor when it was not like that before. The accounts lady that tells their patient that they are being ridiculous when you querie it. Wrote an email to the doctor about it and he is min ge spin and defends his staff for being insufficient. He still expects me to pay for those telephone calls. I will no longer be going there. I have a doctor that is R260 cheaper and does not charge for telephone calls. And the reception staff are friendly and helpfull and they also always keep their patients informed.

I have no option now, because the lady that works with the accounts cannot understand what I am saying to her. I need to speak with someone else, no one else at the practice can assist me. Now I do not know what to do to get my issue through. It is not difficult. They say we owe money on our account. Our medical aid paid 12 visits - as it reflects on their statement. The doctors statement only reflects 4 payments. Where are the other 8 payments!!!!! If they correct their account to reflect the 8 payments that were paid to them as on the medical aid statement, then we do not owe any money!!!!!! This is extremely frustrating and I refuse to pay when the account is up to date. I cannot get this lady in accounts to understand - WHERE ARE THE OTHER 8 PAYMENTS THAT ESSENTIAL MED PAID YOU??!!!! She keeps saying you need authorization after 12 visits. THAT DOES NOT MATTER!!! WHERE ARE THE OTHER 8 PAYMENTS that they paid you?! WE WERE AT THE DOCTOR 12 TIMES!!! THE MEDICAL AID PAID 12 TIMES!!!!!! You did not do your bookkeeping correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a bookkeeper, give me your pastel and the business bank account, and I will show you how you correctly allocate to my account!!!!!!!!

This happened on more than one occasion where you do a query via e-mail to the account department of mentioned medical Practitioners and they refuse to answer your e-mails using the excuse that they are to busy to answer e-mails. (Another excuse is that one person in accounts was on leave and the other person do not answer e-mails). The e-mail address where they have sent the account from is NOT a NO REPLY e-mail address!

All I've requested was an explanation regarding a co-payment that was billed to my account of which my Medical Scheme knows nothing about. Also why my account was only sent to me via e-mail almost 60 days after claim has been submitted to Medical Scheme.

Is it really so difficult in today's technology to answer a simple e-mail?
