To my understanding, FMH has been catered for the poor and low income bracket. Please make me understand why police officers; engineers; business men etc are living in those flats moreover owning more than one flat. My sister had app**** in November 2022, and all her documents were sent to FMH offices on numerous occassions..Still after enquiring this year in February 2023, apparently certain documents are missing. Now, they only tell you these important things only when you go to the offices, not even on email. So eventually they said they received all documents. Two weeks ago, 02 May 2023, the offices advised my sister that she doesn't qualify and the 3 months deposit that was paid in Feb 2023 will be given after 28 days. How can this matter be resolved? There is too much bribery and *******ion WRT this and help is needed urgently. There are families living there and rent has not been paid for over a year but people who are in dire need of the flat are being turned down. I would like to escalate this matter further please! Thank you.

I have a leak in my flat at Lakehaven Estate outsite the flat,all the inside taps are also leaking and they refuse to look at it so unfortunately fromm block 1 and they are not responsive or professional, if we get ill from all the damp, I will make sure FMHC pays

Poor service by first metro
First metro was for low income earners to rent their flats from R800 - R2000, now its gone up to R4200 which makes no sense. If we are low income earners earning R5000+ why are we not catered for. Secondly, theres people who applied for those flats and now are earning way more than they used to earn before they applied and qualified for the flats, now they are paying first metro as little as R2000 a month but are renting out the flats to desperate people for R4500+. My question is, why is First Metro not doing a follow up on their tenants because most of these people have moved out and are renting these flats to other people.

Hellopeter.com @hellopetercom Hi, I have a problem. I was forced to move out by the First Metro Housing in Durban South. This happened on the 12th of May 2020, they did not give me any notice the security just came and throw me out with out any explanation. I opened a flat on the 26th January 2020 and paid all the money that was required and everything was finalized. I signed and they gave me keys, I was told to move out because the flat was not supposed to be rented out but I could not understand because their representative gave the flat to me, that Indian lady is their Administrator but now her supervisors do not want to help me yet the money was deposited into the First Metro Housing Bank account. They say I should deal with her. Right now my kids have no place to stay they crashing over at my friend's house.on the 12th of May 2020 my daughter was alone at the flat because I had gone home due to Lockdown,they sent the security guard to evict her at night and now they want me to take my furniture out and I feel that if I move my furniture I'm going to lose my flat and not even get my deposit back. It's been over two months now and I'm still fighting a hopeless fight. I'm now taking this matter to the media or anyone who's willing to help me. We are a group of more than 10 people going through the same issue and we not getting help.

Fraud and Bribery
I am very disappointed with the service of First Metro Housing Avoca Hills in Durban . They are there to help poor people of South Africa who cannot afford to buy houses but they make their lives a living hell. I have been billed more than once the arrears that I do not have. When I ask for clarity I get threatened for eviction. Month by month I get charged double rent
