Electrician advice ##Beware ### A valuable lesson I learnt I bought a ceiling Fan with a light to be fitted. The initial so called electrician (DalApross – Warren) came out and gave me a quote. On arriving a few days later he explained it was far more difficult to install than expected an upped the cost which grudgingly I agreed to. On arriving home, he had wired it in such a way that you could not switch off the lights while the fan is on. He tried to justify it by saying that people don’t sleep with their fans. His only suggestion was to unwire the dimmer lights in the ceiling and only use the fan as he had wired the fan to the dimmer. To allow both to work as expected he quoted another astronomical amount, so I must pay for his mistakes, After numerous back and forth he only refunded the difference between the first and 2nd quote. To I then contacted Laurie Boyle (082 413 0787) Flash Electrical he initial ally introduced himself by showing his electrical certificate. He looked at the wiring and said it was a fire hazard the way it was wired. For a fraction of the cost and half an hour later he got both working. Ongoing back to Warren and asking for his electrical certificate out of interest he refused to show it and I suspect he does not have one. They mislead people by not giving the whole information before you can accept to download their app, because they don't required any documents to be send to them to activate your account before you can use it but after topup they will close account and need bank statement if you have used bank to top up, id copy and proof of adress, is misleading information because they should have let clients to know that before doing any payments in case you need to use electricity or airtime as emergency. If the balance shows on my account that i have paid so much why they need proof of payment because they have to request that if the amount is not shows on my account. Clients must be told in blank and white on what requirements they want but to hold their money after you have benefited to them.

https://www.flashelectrical247.co.za/ Complete rip-off, R11.8k and 1.5 hrs work to rewire a small DV board. Obtained another quote after paying them for less than R3k. Also, call out was R895. Not all earth wires were secured either and another electrician has to finish the job.

Flash Electrical tried to scam me. The lights in our house stopped working suddenly, so we called them for a quote. They quoted us R9500 for replacing the earth leakage. We called another electrician for a second opinion, who told us that someone had cut the earth leakage cable. He charged us R500 to repair it. I don't know if Flash Electrical is responsible for cutting the earth leakage, but over-quoting by R9000 is unacceptable.

https://flashelectrical247.co.za/ there is 2 on the internet, the ones I am referring to is FLASH ELECTRICAL 247 - as per website noted there is no address only a cell phone number - very dodgy we booked an appointment with them they said they will send someone at a certain time and day the person arrived. A call out fee of R350 was given Now when we call to follow up our quote this company says that there is no one with that description that works for them However how did this person get our address for starters and arrived at the sane time they gave us and knew what work it was for when we were not in contact with anyone else. My husband told me after this guy arrived that he looked dodgy and now this happens? This is a massive security risk as this guy came into our house but now this company knows nothing about this guy These people are either running away with the call out fees or are a syndicate that is getting access to people’s houses to see what they can come back and steal!

Electrician pretended to change the earth leakage circuit breaker and wanted to charge me R11,895.00 for half an hour of lies. I confronted him about my suspicions and told him to remove the circuit breaker and install my existing circuit breaker as one of my electrical phases were providing power and half my residents lights were working before he came. I stood behind him and observed that he did not change the circuit breaker and all the lights were working as a municipal van was in the area and obviously corrected the problem. I called the flash electrical number on the internet and complained. The electrician began shouting and arguing with the head office lady. I offered to reimburse him with a call out fee which the head office said would be R350, the electrician refused to accept the money and left. This is a company with very poor ethics who try take people for a easy buck. Please beware of these unscrupulous practices by this company. The electricians name was Mark, a white male in his 50s. Buyer beware!!!

I will be paying your CALL OUT FEE [or inspection as you call it] today, but I want to express my complete and utter dissatisfaction with your company. The add you have is very confusing and stated [SEE BELOW] – GET QUOTE NOW! NO CALL OUT FEE. I had another electrical company out to fix a light, and the charge for the full job R350, your “NO CALL OUT FEE” is R695, and the electrician was there for only about 15mins. I will not promote you and make sure people I know don’t get caught by the same misleading add. I do suggest that you put in your add, GET A QUOTE NOW, INSPECTION ONLY R695 P/CALL OUT, good luck then in getting any other business Wishing you all the best for the future Ps.
