Poor and deceptive service from Ford silverlakes
I bought a Ford ranger demo bakkie at 14000 km in KZN ; during that period I relocated to Pretoria and advised the dealership that there was a squicky noise from the brakes and they advised me to take it to the nearest Ford where I live in PTA. I waited for the car to be due for its next service where I reported the same to Ford Silverlakes where I was told the brakes are dirty and only requires cleaning The cleaning was done and the noise persisted where I repeatedly reported the same issue but was charged for cleaning the brakes every time I report the noise The noise is continuing band I took the liberty to escalate the issue to Christ Marais service manager when I took the car for its third service He had promised me to address the issue after advising me that this was a common problem with all bakkies since they changed the material component for brakes. This came as a huge surprise and was never communicated to customers. He had advised that he will get the matter sorted and will get Ford SA to cover the cost To my surprise I get a call from Anna Gerber service advisor advising me of a cost I need to pay to resolve the issue on a vehicle that has a motor plan and should be under warranty I refused to cover the cost and they still did not explain to me what the problem is This morning the service advisor send me an email asking me that Christi Marais wants me to provide him with proof that I have reported this matter since 15000 km as if I work for Ford and have access to their system or as if they provide us with reference numbers when we book cars for service; how pathetic Surprisingly their system also send me a message stating that I missed service the previous day while the car was serviced

If you want your car repaired quickly I would not recommend McCarthy Ford Silverlakes. My daughter had her car towed there on Wednesday afternoon and has still not received an official quote for the exorbitant amount quoted to repair her fuel pump.

40k for a battery and half a wash
Be warned. Taking your car to a dealer for repairs is not always in your best interest. Why you ask? Well, the parts I bought at FORD and left in the vehicle for them to replace, were in fact not replaced but just left in the car. They allegedly replaced the gearbox oil, but it is seeping out. Got a quote for nearly 40k, and all I can see that was done is a new battery and half a wash. I asked for old parts to be put back in car so I could see what was done. Nope, only my new parts were waiting for me. What a disgusting experience. They had the car for a month and did NOTHING but charge a small fortune. Shameless, lying thieves.

The vehicle is marked for R206,347 on the official website below , however when I called the agent by the name of Sam , he advised that the price is R229 900 and there is nothing he or the manager can do to assist There should not be false adverti*****t https://www.mccarthy.co.za/used/2020-suzuki-swift-1.2-glx-amt/366535

Bad service
My car was serviced in July git it back, and pointed out to them there is a scratch on it that was not there. They say they will look on the cameras to see if it was one of there people. A dew days whent by and had to phone them to ask what is going on, they said they will have it fix so they will be in contact with me when to bring it in and get the rental car. So time passed and the middle of August I went back to them to find out when is this going to happen, again they will call me when a rental car is available. So here we are in the middle of October and still nothing from ford silverlakes. There service is terrible and will not recommend it to anyone.
