We booked our family getaway for a weekend and via Booking.com found Gardenia Boutique Hotel. The images on their website was breathtaking and we booked our accommodation. The images and or pcitures are deceiving and should be reomved from their website. This was our worst choice and it turned out to be a nightmare. The accommodation was extremely disappointing, the tiles on the floor were stained, the fridge did not work and leaked, the eanmel on the bathtub was pealing off, the mosaics in the shower were broken and had sharp edges which cut my foot, the duvets were damp, the breakfast was a meal for a baby and the dispenser for the cereal was broken. The aircon was not working in the room. The staff were unhelpful and unprofessional, displaying a don't care attitude.

If I were you, I wouldn't book accommodation with them. They might have been good a few years ago, but I believe no one should ever stay in the current conditions of the rooms or eat where breakfast is served. They are in violation of the Consumer Protection Act 71 (Sections 29 and 41). They are definitely not a 4-star hotel. The rooms are dirty, the kitchen where food is prepared is filthy, and the bathrooms are awful.

If I could give a negative 100% I would. Had the booking set, called prior to the booking to confirm all was OK and they accommodated to move us to the ground floor and on the day of arrival without notice the booking was 'cancelled by venue' with no reason or explanation or even a call... Pathetic service to say the least, and thats me being polite... Luckily we found a stunning place which was available and the Owners were so accommodating and polite... I would give them a gold medal for service.

The hotel double charged me by charging my card through Booking.com after I had already paid cash for my stay. Apparently my refund might take 15 days or more which I don’t understand since they already have my money. Just send it back. And our room had a toilet that had no cover and the toilet seat was falling apart so the management needs to work on the maintenance of the place really.

The hotel double charged me by charging my card through Booking.com after I had already paid cash for my stay. Apparently my refund might take 15 days or more which I don’t understand since they already have my money. Just send it back. And our room had a toilet that had no cover and the toilet seat was falling apart so the management needs to work on the maintenance of the place really.

Horrible stay at this Hotel in Randburg. The place is horrible and dilapidated and they charge for breakfast but they have jko breakfast and the service from the white Management is appaulling.They falsified they 4 star rating as this place is nothing close to a 4 star.This is a rip off to tourists

This establishment is a * and not ****. As advertised on the web. Very misleading. Broken cupboard doors. Curtains that don't close, microwave doesn't work with wrong turntable and burnt inside, coffee machine doesn't work. safe in the room doesn't open. You have to ask for towels, and they are hard and rough, extra bed was requested , 2 sofas were pushed together , not a sofa bed with a thin duvet, no pillows. Sheets are wrinkled , not ironed, soap or hand wash was not new or sealed. From a previous guest. Toilet paper was the cheapest they could buy. Terrible, terrible all round. Breakfast was served on chipped crockery and the worst I have tasted. Soft fried eggs were asked for. Hard eggs were received. Toast was burnt. If there are cameras please view footage. It was sent back. The cook in the kitchen is also the maid that cleans the rooms. .
