Goldair
Based on recent customer reviews, Goldair receives overwhelmingly negative feedback centered on poor product durability and virtually nonexistent after-sales support. Customers report appliances such as heaters, fridges, toasters, and air fryers failing within days to months of purchase. A recurring frustration involves the unavailability of replacement parts, leaving owners with no repair options. Multiple reviewers highlight difficulties obtaining refunds or replacements through retailers like Pick n Pay and Builders Warehouse, with the supplier reportedly refusing reasonable resolution. Customers strongly advise against purchasing Goldair products, citing safety concerns and cheap build quality.

Bought the dishwasher in July 2022. The racks started to rust and can not find any replacement racks. And do not get any answers from Goldair South Africa on this. DO NOT buy Goldair dishwashers

Terrible after sales service. Bought a glass toaster and kettle combo set in May last year and within 3 days I noticed the toaster was not heating evenly. Only ro realise the top element was not working. I went back to the retailer, Pick n Pay Hyper Kolonnade Retail Park and requestes a repair failing which I wanted a replacement. The retailer went wuiet on me. The store is quite far from me so I couldn't just pop in there every few days to bother them. Every time I went the repair person was not in, or had just left to go home. When i eventually found him close to a year later they said they would let me know. I'm still waiting. They want to refund but that is not what I asked for. I even said if they cant replace the element they should return the toaster and I'd look for an element and a repair person who could do the repair for me. No luck. Im still waiting for a reply. By that time the kettle had also started giving issues with the lid not closing. It then started closing again but the seal was not great. Overall terrible products and even worse after sales service. My advice is no buy these products especially since there is no official manufacturer's agent in South Africa. It feels as though the Australazian company who sells these, CDB, has found a market to dump their cheap products in South Africa.

I am beyond frustrated with the service received from Builders Warehouse regarding a Goldair gas heater I purchased. The unit was faulty from the start, and I returned it within 7 days, as per policy. They replaced it not once, not twice, but three times – all with the exact same issue. Now, after experiencing the same problem for the third time, Builders has informed me that the supplier refuses to refund me – they will only give me a fourth replacement, but only because I no longer have the original box. This is completely unreasonable. I’ve submitted video and photo evidence of the fault, and the heater was also tested and confirmed faulty in-store. At this point, I feel like I’m being forced to keep accepting the same defective product over and over with no real solution. A missing box should not prevent a refund for a clearly faulty item, especially when I’ve acted within the correct timeframes each time. I’m extremely disappointed in how Builders Warehouse and the Goldair supplier have handled this. I simply want a refund for a defective product – not a fourth round of the same failure.

I bought a dual gas stove and electric oven from Builders about 9 years ago. The first time I had to change the gas bottel- a 1.5 years later, one hob stopped working. Then as time went by, the other hob stopped working - lets call it from wear and tear; the igniter was the problem. So I phoned Van Biljoens to get a quote to fix it, and guess what? There are no more parts available for a Goldair gas/electric stove. So think very hard before purchasing this stove. Check for available parts, etc.
