We found this gem of a place this weekend and must say the setting is perfect for a family outing. Animal petting and horse riding for the children was such a pleasant surprise. Variety of restaurants to choose from for breakfast was the added touch. Shall make a point of visiting again.

My Wife and I took our two children and there 4 cousins(all of whom between the ages of 2 and 10 years old) to imhoff farm to feed the animals. The kids enjoyed it, feeding the ducks, and other farm animals the animal caretaker was very friendly and answered all the kids questions. He even allowed the kids to watch him has he herded the animals back into their enclosures when it was closing time. When we were done the kids were hungry so my wife and i decided to go to the Restaurant that is on the same premises. The kids played in the park while my wife an I waited sat at the table waiting for someone to serve us. We say directly infront of the door because that was the biggest table. we waited a few minutes and i tried to get the attention of the waiter(with dreadlocks) . I was told that he would be with me shortly, we continued to sit and watch as the waiters served other customers that came in after us. the kids were having fun so we decided to make the most of it and stay. Eventually a waiter(with dreadlocks) came out and took our order of one two of same Pizzas.(i forget the name) and we also ask the waiter for an extra 6 plates for the kids. we waited about 10 minutes and still no plates were put on the table, i got the attention of the waiter(with dreadlocks) to remind him, and he replied he will do so now... another Ten minutes past and still no food or plates and the waiter(with dreadlocks) continued to service the other customers but neglected to see to us. eventually i got up and went inside the restaurant(with the intention of taking plated from the tables inside the building) another waiter saw me and asked if he could help, i told him that I have been waiting almost 30 minutes an i still was not service my food, the plates were not on the table as i requested. at that moment the waiter (with dreadlocks)comes out of the kitchen with the pIzzas in hand i immediately calm down and say thank you. we walk back to the table the waiter (with dreadlocks) puts the pizzas down and goes back to serving other customers the other waiter the brings the plates. at this moment we notice that there are two different Pizzas, one Plain enough for the kids to eat without burning there mouths(which we order two of) and the other was completely different it had pepperonis on and looked spicy. I call our waiter(with dreadlocks) explained to him that we had order two of the same pizzas and this was clearly a mix up. He then looks at the pizzas and looks at me and says we have to pay for the extra for the Pizza we didnt order because it had extra meat and other ingredients on. Best Believe i was ****ed. but seen as how we had traveled from Strandfontein to Kommitjie to feed the animals. I decided to ruin the days by going off on this waiter (with dreadlocks) so i told my wife(my wife who was hoping i smack this idiot of a waitier) i told her lets justs pay the extra R25 seeing as how we were waiting over 40 minutes. kids are hungry and we traveled to let one idiot ruin our day.

Boyfriend and I went horse riding at the imhoff farm, we were greeted nicely but as soon as the owner left and left the not so helpful guide in charge it all went to hell. The mounting block was unstable so I ended up mounting the horse off the floor, I'm a complete novice so it was quite challenging to mount. Once on the horse the guide adjusted the stirrups, but I instantly felt they needed to be longer as I'm quite tall so I asked him to readjust them he walks away pretending that he didn't hear me, so I hopped back off and used the advice I gotten from and experienced rider to adjust them, when I got back on I instantly felt more comfortable, after we got through the initial gates the guide was on his phone the WHOLE ride, once on the beach he galloped away from us (it was just 2 novice riders with the one guide) he left us for about 5 minutes before returning. He asked if I wanted to try cantering with my horse I felt confident enough to give it a go, but my horse was having none of it, even when the guide was pulling it along with his, I eventually screamed at him to let go and just take it easy because clearly the horse wasn't happy to go. He once again trotted away from us then when we caught up he was disinterested in us, didn't tell us anything like he was ment to, it was more like he was a guest paying to ride rather than guiding the horses and being informative, I had to figure out the commands my horse understood. The ride back to stables were just as horrid! My horse ****ked at every wave that came in which ment we bolted a few times and came close to falling off a lot, my horse was the slowest so I was at the back. This ride wasn't cheap either! And they conducted themselves in such a bad manner. We even ended the ride early because it became to much to handle. I wish I demanded my money back but I was so tierd physically and mentally after the hellish ride I was too eager to leave!

I went to Imhoff farm on a week day for afternoon cake and tea with a friend. I ordered a slice of chocolate cake and in the new cake I could see their was a older chocolate cake slice shoved in the new (it was quite obvious).<br> Well, by the time our order arrived I wanted to make sure that I did not get that older slice of cake and I asked the waitress to show me. Then the manager (possibly owner a mature blonde woman) comes to the waitress to find out if the waitress is 'OKAY' and tells the waitress 'if anyone gives you grief come tell me I will sort it out' I felt like I was dealing with the mafia. She should have come to me as the paying customer and find out if I am okay with my service and what I ordered. NOT ONCE DID THE MANAGER COME TO ME AS THE CUSTOMER TO FIND OUT IF I WAS OKAY, NOR THE WAITRESS - THIS WAS THE MOST POOR SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED IN AND AROUND THE CAPE IN A VERY LONG TIME. I am disappointed and I will not return there and I will not recommend it to anyone. There were other people their as well and myself and my partner were very poorly attended too.
