Refrigerated Trailer Worx The worst, dishonest company I have ever dealt with in my life. I ordered and paid R130 000 (including finance charges) for a 2 Ton double axel, refrigerated trailer with a freezer unit and a solar panel with inverter and batteries from Refrigerated Trailer Worx from Stephen Horn at the end of April 2018. He has a great website and his website claims (as he also does telephonically) that they have a lead time of +- 3 weeks from the date of the order and payment. Ironically before I placed the order I called one of his customers that said that they had a few minor problems but they received their trailer so I was not too worried at that time. He also never sent a single picture of the progress of the trailer despite me insisting on it. When it came to delivery time (I gave him an extra month) he assured me that the trailer is finished and that I can drive down from Kimberley to Cape Town to take delivery of the trailer on the 9th of July. On arrival, he claimed that the trailer had a problem with the inverter and could I stay another day while they fixed that and he insisted that he will cover that cost (which he did). I then stayed over to take delivery the next day. On arrival the next day at his business at Unit 5, Nr 16 Kaymore Street in Stikland, again he said that they are still busy with it, could I wait till lunchtime. Lunchtime came and went. I then insisted that he gives me the address of the solar people so that I could see how far this trailer is. He then gave all excuses on why it’s not possible and promised that he would deliver the trailer in Kimberley within 2 days. I left Cape Town without my trailer and his promises. Phone calls were made virtually every day and after a week he claimed that the transporter has the trailer in Gauteng but will deliver it in Kimberley. After I insisted that he gives me the address so that I can send people to physically look at it, he gave me a Cell number of the ‘so called’ transporter. No answer at that number despite numerous efforts. That date came and went, still, no trailer. Stephen Horn then claimed it would be in Kimberley the very next day (Friday the 24 July), as you guessed, still no trailer. I then told Stephen Horn that there would now be consequences as my business is now incurring losses because of him as I have to make alternative arrangements to get my product (Smoked Springbok and other game Carpaccio and products) to my distributors. He promised to cover the costs of that...apparently, he does this to all his other victims and never pays those costs of additional trailer rental etc due to his non-delivery. He then openly admitted to me a week ago that the trailer does not exist and that he lied to me and he apologised. He let me drive all the way to Cape Town, knowing full well that my trailer does not even exist. He then said that the trailer would be done in a week. That deadline is today the 6th of August. If Insulated Trailer Worx’ history is anything to go by, yes you guessed it, the trailer will not be finished, nor will there be proof of anything done and I will not receive it. Update: It is now the 17th of August, still no trailer or even a picture of it. Stay far away from this Stephen Horn’s business. It is dishonest, disingenuous and full of empty promises. He took my money gladly but it has been 4 months now and (29th August) and I still have NO trailer. I have the proof and I will not stop here. More than 15 other ‘victims’ have paid that price and I have been in contact with some of them. They have the same grievances. There will be no more victims from now on Mr Horn. It stops with me, justice will be served. Derrick van Zyl, Kimberley. My email is **********

I found Insulated Trailer Worx after being horribly dissapointed by another manufacturer and coming close to giving up on my food truck. There were no issues whatsoever and my box was completed to my 100% satisfaction. Stephen was easy to get a hold of and always ready to answer my questions(I had many!)The staff were friendly as well. Thank you Stephen and team,I have no problem with recommending your services .

We purchased and paid 90% of an insulated, refrigerated trailer that had a solar powered refrigerated unit on it around April last year. We were promised this trailer in 1 month, however we received it about 4 months later, after hundreds of phone calls where we were either told the trailer was nearly finished or on its way to be delivered to us when in actual fact it was still far from finished in the workshop (we eventually had to send a lawyer to the premises to get an answer). The level of dishonesty we received was the most disappointing part of the whole ordeal, until we received the trailer. Thankful we had finally received our trailer which looked good we soon discovered the many faults, poor finishing and attention to detail on the trailer once we had used it for a short while (The trailer also incomplete and did not have the meat rails we had ordered and paid for, which then took another month to get a refund for). > The box the inverter was installed in was so poorly made that if it rained all the water would go straight into the box, the water from the refrigeration unit was piped straight on top of the inverter box which also went straight into the box. We eventually paid R15000 to fix the box and replace the inverter which had now been destroyed by water with in only a few weeks of receiving the trailer. > The entire box shifted from the center of the trailer to the right edge as the bolts attaching it to the chassis were not tight enough meaning the trailer wheel started to rub against the body of the trailer which took more money and time to fix. > The entire box of the trailer was attached to the chassis using pop rivets and poor welding, I then had to replace all of this with large *****s and welding to make it more table so the box didn't come off during travel which it almost did and which is why we went to these lengths to fix it. > On the 24th of July 2018 the V shaped part of the chassis underneath the box broke completely, to our surprise we have found that there was a tiny piece of welded metal holding that bar to the above bar. This trailer is supposed to be able to carry 1.3 tons which we have never loaded into it. It is impossible that this kind of workmanship would support that weight. If I could add pictures I would. Unfortunately the trailer we purchased is actually falling to pieces and we will have to again spend money to fix this trailer as what we were promised was NOT WHAT WE GOT. We are so disappointed in what we purchased for our business and will never do it again.

If no star was possible, I would give it! A few months ago I wrote a very negative (and 100% true) review about Stephen Horn and Insulated Trailer Worx. Now he has gone and wrote a FAKE good review from me! I am Carla H, and I definately don't have a positive word to say about him or his business!! The cheek. After paying the 50% deposits on 2 trailers in November 2017, the one was made and Stephen kept asking for more money from us. I paid him another 25% of the total and he kept promising our trailers will be ready soon. By this time it was already the end of December, and both trailers were supposed to be ready mid December. Eventually we got our 1 trailer mid January. Every day he promised that our second trailer will be ready "tomorrow." Eventually he admitted to my husband that our second trailer doesn't exist. At this point he had R37500 of our money, over and above the first trailer's money. After posting various reviews, he paid back our money. We had at this point already missed our deadline for the second trailer to be ready, and nearly lost one of our contracts because of this. At the last minute we had to source another trailer. We had to pay for this trailer before we even got our R37500 back. This put is under humongous stress. I have emails and telephone call recordings to back up all of my statements. Stephen makes false promises I think he uses the money from deposits to pay previous debtors or spends it on himself. Numerous of his clients has contacted me after my posts to ask for advice as they were in the same position as I was. He keeps doing this to customers. STAY AWAY!
