I’ve been an ABSA private bank client for years, but the current change of private bankers and the quality of these people has deteriorated so much. Waiting months for replacement cards. ABSA Private - where are the good old days where your service was impeccable???
My experiences with takealot has always been great. Delivery is quick, even outside of the big cities and returns are seamless. Yes, there is still items with unrealistic prices for example coffee when compared to shops, but the deals on other items Takealot lately has been amazing!
Excellent store, amazing range of products and returns if necessary are super easy. My go to for on line shopping for clothes and beauty for sure.
After trying to fall pregnant for nearly a year; I bought one of Dis-Chem's Medic+ Pregnancy Test kits as a routine pregnancy test. The product comes as one digital unit with 3 pregnancy test strips that you can insert to test for pregnancy (3 times). After doing the urine test, the result showed as YES+ which indicates a positive pregnancy test. I then tried to use the other 2 test strips, but the digital monitor wasn't coming on anymore and both of the test strips gave me no result at all. We took it as me being pregnant, a lot of excitement etc. That night and the next day I proceeded to do 2 Clearblue pregnancy tests to confirm. Both these showed negative. I then took the test's box and slip back the Dis-Chem (Willowbridge) and at first they said that they don't refund this type of item, but after my explanations, they refunded me with a voucher. I also phoned the Dis-Chem customer careline and they said that they have not had an issue with this device yet, and thanks for bringing this under their attention and they apologise for the inconvenience caused. And that was it. A few days after that, my period arrived, and I had another Clearblue negative pregnancy test result. The days in between these tests were very emotional and confusing. It completely ruined my Christmas time. Dis-Chem needs to realise that this is a serious matter and that something like this can be devastating for many couples that might have struggled with fertility. I will be taking further action against them.
If no star was possible, I would give it! A few months ago I wrote a very negative (and 100% true) review about Stephen Horn and Insulated Trailer Worx. Now he has gone and wrote a FAKE good review from me! I am Carla H, and I definately don't have a positive word to say about him or his business!! The cheek. After paying the 50% deposits on 2 trailers in November 2017, the one was made and Stephen kept asking for more money from us. I paid him another 25% of the total and he kept promising our trailers will be ready soon. By this time it was already the end of December, and both trailers were supposed to be ready mid December. Eventually we got our 1 trailer mid January. Every day he promised that our second trailer will be ready "tomorrow." Eventually he admitted to my husband that our second trailer doesn't exist. At this point he had R37500 of our money, over and above the first trailer's money. After posting various reviews, he paid back our money. We had at this point already missed our deadline for the second trailer to be ready, and nearly lost one of our contracts because of this. At the last minute we had to source another trailer. We had to pay for this trailer before we even got our R37500 back. This put is under humongous stress. I have emails and telephone call recordings to back up all of my statements. Stephen makes false promises I think he uses the money from deposits to pay previous debtors or spends it on himself. Numerous of his clients has contacted me after my posts to ask for advice as they were in the same position as I was. He keeps doing this to customers. STAY AWAY!

We approached Stephen Horn to build 2 trailers for us, and paid him 75% (R108 000) of the total (R142 000) upfront in mid November 2017. He advised us that it will be 4 - 5 weeks to complete our trailers. By 20 December, we've still only seen production start on one of our trailers. He assured us that he's working straight through December and January and that we will have our trailers at the beginning of January, before we needed to leave Cape Town with them on the 10th of January 2018; which was more much more time than the agreed 5 weeks. On the 27th of December 2017, he phoned to ask us for another R8500, as both trailers were apparently built, but he needed the money for the ruberised flooring. We refused, as we had paid all the necessary funds in the form of a deposit and had driven past his workshop numerous times and saw nobody working there at this time. He basically had received the money for 1 whole trailer and 50% of another one at this point. It was also at this point that we found numerous online complaints about him, and we became wary. The 8th of January came, and one of our trailers in his workshop was nearly completed. My partner confronted him about his online negative reviews as we were experiencing similar scenarios. Stephen became very defensive and swore at him and said "come fetch your trailers in the morning and lets be done with each other'" which my partner responded to "that is exactly what we had been begging for for weeks." Tomorrow came and there were no trailers. It was lies all the way. Eventually, we received our first trailer by mid January 2018. He claimed that the second one was also completed and that it was at roadworthy as he had no space to store it. He led us to believe that the trailer we saw initially, was the one at roadworthy and that the nearly completed one at his workshop, was our second trailer. He kept promissing that our second trailer would be ready for collection "tomorrow." Everyday it became another "tomorrow." Be very wary of this persons modus operandi as he will promise a delivery "tomorrow morning" then when "tomorrow morning" comes he will make a call to tell you to come in the afternoon and then in the afternoon you will receive a call to come tomorrow morning once again. This will continue for weeks. Do not belive a word of the stories because his lies flow like water. Finally, on the 23rd of January 2018, he admitted that our second trailer had never been built and there was some story of him buying another trailer and selling it to us, which fell through. We found this to be incredibly dishonest as he was trying to gain access to another R8500 of our money for a trailer which hasn't even be built. This indicated that he had spent our the remaining R37 500, which he had been holding for the second trailer, elsewhere. At this point he promised to start building our second trailer immediately. We initially agreed to this, but we were very sceptical for obvious reasons. He told us that he they had already made our chassis, but we found out through one of his suppliers, that this was also a lie. We then found another trailer that had been built already, and we decided to buy that one as we were already 2 weeks behind schedule and there was no hope in sigtht for Stephen to deliver this second trailer. Stephen then agreed to refund our R37500 the next day, but the "tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow stories" just kept coming till this very day. We are yet to receive a cent from him. We have recorded every single telephone conversation with Stephen and we are able to back up every statement made in this complaint. We've spoken to many other people who we found online, with similar experiences. The scary thing is that so few have formally complained, and that Stephen is still in business.
