I write on behalf of my neighbour who is an elderly retired pensioner To my surprise and disappointment to share the experience I've had with KD Plumbing. KD Plumbing installed a 100L geyser on 25 August 2020 charging me R12800 for labour. I've been waiting on them since last Friday after I reported the leakage resulted from this now burst geyser. They asked me for a call out fee which I don't feel is unreasonable expectation as I am pensioner and the geyser is still under quarantee. They explained I must contact another third party to fulfill the replacement job. KD Plumbings told me that they have installed a 150 L geyser yet on their invoice they wrote 100L. Im confused and upset about this and have not received any explanation as to why this error occured and how it can be rectified... Hopefully we can all cultivate good business practise by being honest with customers and also try to make a courteous exception to the general rule of call out fee to pensioners and those who are not able to afford this standard. Thank you and good luck!

Excellent service. Arrived on time, on the same day as the request was submitted. Gave me an accurate quote. Very friendly and competent workers. As the problem was only minor, I was only charged for the call-out. Will definitely employ KD Plumbing in the future.

I would like to praise the company on their quick response to call out requests. I however have out weighting negative comments: 1) I advised the plumber on arrival that the water meter had recently been replaced when they first arrived. After 3 hours of investigations they then told me the issue lies with the water meter. I would think they would have the experience and knowledge to know sooner than 3 hours that they cannot fix the issue. 2) No communication from plumber when on site, investigations into issues have lead to replacement of parts without authorization nor quoting. This then lead to knock on issues - which they did resolve after more call outs. No fee charged 3) Issue re-occurring and they state if the cause of the issue is the same then no call out fee will be charged on email. After the visit the invoice includes a call out fee. They then backtrack and state the source of the issue lies with the council and they cannot be held liable. They have lost money and need to recoup it somehow. 4) Refuse to provide original invoices for parts charged for. On going dispute re. call out fee and recent communication stating "We are not in the industry to rip people off and have been operating for over 14yrs" Threatening to taking action with debt collection. Owner of the company refuses to discuss. I find this poor customer service I would not recommend using their services - far too many repetitive calls outs and "admin". I would not have used them again for the recurring issue if I knew that they would charge me a call out fee for this ongoing issue.

I'm really disappointed with KD Plumbing. A leak which apparently was fixed is wet in the exact same spot after spending almost 5k. When I called them to ask if their work is guaranteed as the exact same spot is wet again...they said its a different leak and I have old pipes. When I asked them why the leak detection of my whole house - that I paid for - didn't pick up the "other leak"...they said there were no other leaks found at that time. When I asked them why... if they noticed that there was a problem with my "old pipes" why they did not inform me when the wall was already open and they could have done something. They gave no response. They did not even offer to come and look and open it free of charge to see what was wrong. I have to pay again for everything. No, man. This is not okay.

KD plumbing was really great at sorting out my new geyser installation at my house. They came on time and left with a perfect executed job. I examined the work after and was really impressed with the perfection that you don't seem to see now a days. Best plumbers I have ever used.

A few years ago Kasey was very efficient in helping solve some issues after our build. I even gave them a 5 star review. At the end of 2021 they did a call out for me and things went badly. I asked them to fix a small leaking ring main pump. Initially they told me it was done except they were short a washer, and they would be back. I had to contact them twice to return and fit the washer, and then it came out that they had actually cracked the pump when removing it, according to them due to rusty connections. Besides this the saddles where they worked weren't re fixed, lagging was left open and some Styrofoam insulation was broken. Generally sloppy work. They didn't take responsibility for cracking the pump, which I can understand and accept. But they charged me for a second call out - R 1'600 (to fit the washer) - which I would never had done if they had been straight from the start. I also bought up that their R 782/hr rate was higher than the IOPSA recommended rates (R350-R750/hr). When I complained about it Kasey wouldn't address my reasoning about why the call out wasn't necessary if they had been straight with me, and only focused on my querying of the rates, which I had only mentioned briefly and moved on from. He finished by saying if I have a problem I should get another plumber. I have paid them R 4950, and they have left me with much worse problems then I started with - and they clearly don't even care enough to try and understand why this would upset me.

They arrived and did a job which cost me R 4 444.75. The lessons learned here are not to trust all service providers, even if their website looks top class and to always get estimates in writing before they do a job. They overcharged me on labour and left electrical wires exposed, which was remedied 3 days later. Their plumbers also did not appear clued up on the actual issue.
